Hero- Surprise!

Beth's POV
So Hero has gone back out to America to start filming the next After movie which happens to be After We Collided. I couldn't be prouder of him and I know he's going to miss being here with me and Jace but I've got my friend Sophie staying with me to help look after him and plus it gives her chance to spend time with Jace as well considering he's her godson. "I miss Hero so much, Soph and I'm sure Jace misses him too." I said to Sophie. "I know you do beaut. Why don't you and Jace fly out there to surprise him? You've got Anna's number haven't you to arrange it?" Sophie said to me. "That's actually a really good idea, Soph. I'll message Anna now to sort it out." I said to her.

Jace was just giggling with Sophie as she was playing with him on the floor, it was such a lovely sound to hear. While I've got the time now with Sophie occupying Jace, I decide to call Anna rather than send her a message to arrange this surprise for Hero. I dial Anna's number and she answers on the second ring. "Hey Anna, how are you?" I said to her. "Hey Beth. I'm good thank you. How are you and Jace?" She said back to me. "We're both good. I was wondering if I can ask for a favour from you." I said. "Of course. What can I do for you?" She said. "Well if you're out of earshot of anyone to hear me say this but I was wondering if you could help me out by helping me and Jace to surprise Hero by coming to the set as Jace really misses his daddy." I said.

"Of course I can do that for you both. I'll make sure Hero doesn't know a thing about this. I'll email you all the details and get you on the first flight out here and I'll give you both passes to get onto the set. When you get here, I'll come and meet you at the airport and I'll sneak you in with your passes when they take a break from filming, that way it will be easier to surprise him when you get here. How does that sound?" She said to me. "That sounds perfect. If you're able to send all the details over now and get things sorted as soon as possible then we can be on our way. Thank you so much Anna." I said to her. "No problem Beth. I'm sending it all right now from my laptop. See you when you get here." She said to me. "Bye Anna." I said and then we hung up.

I then went back to Sophie and Jace. "So how'd it go Beth?" Sophie said to me. "Everything's all sorted. I've got all the details from Anna including the first flight out there in the morning so we should get packing. Anna's gonna meet us at the airport and sneak us in with passes when the cast are on break." I said to her. "That's awesome. I'll help you both pack and I'll stay here looking after the apartment while you're gone." She said to me as we head towards the bedroom. "Thank you so much Sophie. What would I do without you?" I said to her and gave her a big hug.

As soon as we finished packing, we put the bags by the door so that we're ready to fly out in the morning. We then got ourselves some food and settled in front of the TV with a movie. I put Jace to bed as soon as he'd eaten so that he gets enough sleep ready for the morning even though he's gonna end up having to have a sleep on the plane as well coz it's gonna be a long flight. Me and Sophie didn't stay up too late either coz of me having to get up early.

The next day:
Me and Jace got up bright and early to go to the airport to go and surprise Hero. Sophie wanted to get up with us to take us to the airport which was really good of her. Jace was a bit grumpy though but once he knows where we're going I know he'll be in a better mood. He hasn't said his first word yet even though he's only 2 years old but hopefully he'll say it when we're with his daddy coz I know it would mean the world to Hero to be able to hear Jace's first word. He's been a little bit slow with trying to talk and I think it's coz his daddy isn't with us at the moment due to his filming schedule but we'll get there.

We've arrived at the airport and said goodbye to Sophie. Once we checked in with all our stuff including Jace's pushchair and car seat, we set off for security and customs and then we go and get some food and get something to eat on the plane as I'm not good with eating food on the plane that they serve and I had to buy Jace some baby food from one of the shops in duty free when we got through security. Once we did all that we then went to wait to get on the plane. I put reins on Jace considering he can now walk after he took his first steps on the beach in Greece when we went on our first family holiday.

We then boarded the plane and then we took off which wasn't very nice for Jace but I kept him as calm as possible. He's still trying to get used to being on a plane as this is only his second time being on one. Once we're in the air I set up the iPad for him to watch his children's tv shows that I was able to put on there for him. I only let him watch them for a little while and then I got him to sleep for a few hours so that he's a bit more well rested for when we see his daddy. While he was asleep I watched a few movies on the little screen that was in the seat in front of me and put my earphones in so that it didn't wake Jace up.

I had to get up to go to the toilet with him though so that I could change his nappy but other than that we had a pretty relaxed flight. Once we landed and did everything that we had to do at the airport before we could leave there, we saw Anna waiting for us with a big smile on her face. She gave us both a hug and made a big fuss of Jace as she hadn't seen him since he was born. When we left the airport, we got our luggage in her car and I was able to put Jace's car seat in, we then set off for the set of the movie for where they were filming today as they were in different locations for different parts of the movie.

Anna gave us our passes to get onto the set and she said that she made sure that when the cast and crew were taking a break from filming that they'd be sitting in an arrangement where Hero wouldn't see us come into the room. When we got to the film set, the cast and crew were sitting exactly how Anna said they would be sitting. Hero had his back facing us so that he wouldn't see us come in. Everyone else knew about us being there but kept it a secret from Hero so when they saw us come in they all smiled at us but didn't make it look too obvious for Hero.

I looked at Jace and said to him "who's sitting over there Jace?" The words that came out of Jace's mouth made me want to cry happy tears coz it was his first word, "dada." This made Hero turn round and see who said that, when he saw us he literally legged it over to us and enveloped us both in a massive hug. "Hey baby and did you just say your first word little man?" Hero said to us. "Dada." Jace said again and stretched his arms out for Hero to hold him. "He did baby. Surprise by the way." I said and gave him a big hug and kiss.

"How did you know where we were filming?" He said to me. "I arranged it all with Anna yesterday and she got us the first flight out here this morning coz we missed you so much and I wanted Jace to say his first word with you actually being there to hear it. Sophie's looking after the apartment as well." I said to him. "This is the best surprise baby and it means even more to me knowing that I was able to witness Jace's first word. I love you so much princess and I love you my little man." He said to me.

"I love you too baby and I'm glad we were able to surprise you with this. Shall we introduce him to the rest of the cast?" I said to him. "Yeah let's do that while we've still got a bit of a break left. Are you sticking around for a while?" He said to me. "Yeah baby. We're gonna be here for a week and then we'll go back home." I said to him. "Dada, Mama." Jace said. "Oh my gosh, he said mama as well. Today really is an amazing day." I said to Hero and then gave Jace a kiss and hug.

We then went to join the rest of the cast and crew while they had a break and they all made a fuss of Jace which was really nice. We stayed there while they were filming the rest of the day and then when they were done we went back to where Hero was staying while all this filming is going on. We stayed for the whole week and then me and Jace went back home but I told Hero that we can try and FaceTime everyday when he's done filming so that he can see us and see what Jace has been doing while he's not here with us. This couldn't have been better for this whole surprise and I'm so glad that we did it.
