narrator's pov...
Work has been great for Wren. She's gotten closer with the team, feels great after solving cases, and now she has the weekend off.
Her and Reid have been odd lately. Some days they argue none stop, but others they're completely fine. It's like a love hate relationship.
wren's pov...
I woke up around 9am this morning. I got out of bed and washed my face. After that I went to make breakfast. I made an english muffin with strawberries and yogurt. I was eating my breakfast when I got a text.
Good morning. I was wondering if you wanted to grab coffee? I have nothing to do and assumed you had nothing to do as well. - Reid
I laughed. Did Dr. Spencer Reid just invite me to grab coffee with him?
Yes, coffee sounds great. Also why did you just assume I didn't have plans? Quite hurtful.
Well I just don't see you as a girl who likes to have plans all the time. You like to keep to yourself. - Reid
I'll see you later Reid. Say 11?
See you at 11.
After that odd conversation with Reid I cleaned up my kitchen and decided to get ready. I walked over to my closest and was wondering what I should wear. This isn't a date but I still want to look presentable. It's just coffee with Spencer. Nothing special. After another five minutes of being stuck in my thoughts I decided to wear a white long sleeve with a brown and sage green sweater vest over top. I wore a brown skirt and black booties. It was chilly outside but nothing too serious for September.
Once I got dressed I sat down at my vanity and started doing my makeup. All I did for today was put on concealer, light brown eyeshadow, blush and lipgloss.
I checked my clock and it read 10:37. I grabbed my crossbody bag and went out the door. I realized Spencer never clarified what coffee shop we would meet at. That's when I saw him standing outside of his car in front of my apartment building.
"Well hello." he said.
"Spencer how do you know where I live?"
"I read over your file once. Well that doesn't matter does it. Shall we go?"
I laughed and nodded my head. He opened the door for me and I sat in his car. He got in and we took off.
We talked about music and books while we drove to Estelles Coffee House. Once we got there we walked inside and sat at a little table in the corner. The place was so cute. Flowers, vines and candles everywhere.
"So you have never seen The Notebook?" I asked Reid in shock.
"Nope. I stick to scientific movies, non fiction."
"Well one day we will watch a whole bunch of pure fiction movies. You'll thank me."
"I don't think I will." He laughed and so did I.
He ordered a cappuccino and I ordered a vanilla latte. We talked and laughed and had a good time. After we finished our drinks I asked if he wanted to go on a walk through the park.
"Yeah that would be nice."
We paid and then got up to leave. We drove over to the nearest park. The trees were so beautiful. Yellow, orange and brown leaves everywhere. The grass was such a pretty green and still had it's morning dew. We walked around and talked for almost an hour.
"Why did you ever leave Pennsylvania? I mean your family lives there and I assume you had friends and even a boyfriend that live there."
"There you go assuming again." I laughed. "I left because one, I had always been interested in working at the Behavioral Analysis Unit. It's been a dream of mine since I was fifteen. And two, I needed to leave and live my life. I couldn't live with mommy and daddy forever. And yes I had friends and a boyfriend."
"What happened with him?"
"He wasn't a good guy. He was manipulative and abusive. It wasn't healthy, you know? So without telling him I got a spot at the Bureau, I just left one day. Haven't heard from him since."
"Well that's a good thing, right?"
"Yes of course it is. Now enough about me, what about you? Any true love in your life?"
"Nope. I never have time to date and quite frankly I don't think I have the energy to be in a committed relationship."
"Yeah I totally understand."
Spencer and I talked some more before we went back to the car. The clock read 3:52pm.
"Woah we've been out for a while." I laughed while pointing that out.
He laughed and turned on the car. He drove me home.
"Thank you for coming out today, I had a good time." he said.
"Yeah so did I. Well have a good evening Spence."
I got out of the car and walked to my apartment. I looked back and Spence was driving away.
Once I got inside I put down my bag and took off my shoes. I sat down on my couch and grabbed a book I've been reading. They Both Die at the End. I read for about an hour before getting hungry. I made chicken with avocado and honey.
After eating I undressed and hopped in the shower. I got into pajamas and went to sleep around 9pm.
As I was falling asleep I was thinking about my day with Spencer. How even after all of our fighting and bickering we could still have good days like today. I fell asleep to the thought of Reid.
