Remus woke the next morning not remembering much of the previous night, he winced as he tried to sit up, there was a fresh wound down his front in a jagged line, reaching from his chest to the top of his left thigh. This was one of his worst, he was nauseous and his body felt weak, a pounding in his head. he couldn't muster the strength to move and passed out again.

he wokr up back in his bed, Sirius sat opposite on his. He smiled as he saw remus open his eyes "you took your time, had me worried." Sirius said quietly getting off his bed to crouch next to Remus, he felt weak still but he couldn't but smile at Sirius's concerned face

"i'm all good." he managed, his voice raw as it often was after a long night of howling.

"it's nearly 8, you've been asleep all day." Sirius told him straightening back up, this suprised Remus he usually awoke around midday and was back for afternoon lessons. "i told Euph i would let her know when you woke up, drink that." he pointed to a goblet on his night stand filled with a thick potion, Remus nodded and Sirius gave him a quick pat on the head before dissapearing through the doorway.

                                                                                *  *  *  *

Remus spent the remainder of the summer slowly, he watched Sirius and James play on their brooms,  read and listened to music, gathering back his strength and soon enough he was back at kings cross a surge of happiness in his heart as Mr potter pulled in the old muggle car he drove into the carpark to unload their bags and bid ther goodbyes.

"Pete!" James called down the platform he was waving at another kid further down, Peter waved back running over to them

"thought i'd lost you there" he squeaked slightly out of breath

"aw you can never get rid of us Petey-Boy" Sirius grinned ruffling his sandy blonde hair, Peter shook him off picking up his trunk, he had turned a light shade of pink

"come on we better get to the compartment" James said picking his trunk up too, the other boys obliged following him onto the train and down the long corridor, on the way down Remus caught sight of the back of a blonde girls head

"Marls!" Remus exclaimed, she turned around with a smile

"Lupin! i was wondering when you would show your face." she replied, he pulled her into a one armed hug- the other still lugging the heavy trunk

"keep it moving." a voice sounded from behind, he looked to see Lily stood there smiling at him

"shit Lil didn't realise you were behind," Remus explained grinning

"i won't hold a grudge, but get a leg on my arms aching," Lily lightly kicked him on the back of his ankle, Remus waved goodbye to Marlene then went off after the 3 boys.

"where've you been?" Sirius asked looking up from his copy of the daily prophet as Remus entered the carriage

"Saw Marlene and Lily, was just saying hello," he answered taking the sat opposite, it was just them two 'not that that's bad'  "where's the others?"

"James wanted to get a head start giving the quidditch team a talk, and Pete followed as ever" Sirius answered still looking at him

"oh, anything good?" he nodded toward the paper in Sirius's lap, finally tearing Sirius's eyes off him 'thank god'  Sirius shook his head glumly

"same stuff more or less."

"you alright?" Remus asked him noticing Sirius's uncharacteristically low hung head
