Chapter 1

Death. Approximately 150,000 people die each day on Earth. It's fascinating that humans don't live as long as me and the others in my kind.
You see, I've sort of experienced death before. Well, on multiple occasions. It's pretty darn scary if I'm going to be honest. It's the not knowing if you're going to live or if this is the final moment of living. Would people care if I were to die? Who knows...

Rubbing my eyes, I have risen from my 3 hour sleep. Still pretty fucking tired though which is quite obvious. It's 8am. And it's a Monday, great. I get up from my bed, and slip on my slippers whilst walking out of the room. Flicking on the light switch, I have the sudden feeling that someone is watching me. I slowly turn around cautiously to find nobody there. I'm probably overthinking, or it's just because I'm tired.
9am. I'm now in class. The one place I don't want to be. I could be in my bed right now, but no I have to be here. I have to make it seem
that I'm a normal human being.
"Hey, Levi!"
Shit, that turd is coming over here. "What do you want, Allison?" I mumbled. "Well- Can I sit by you today..?" She spoke shyly.
What the fuck does she want with me? She's never spoke to me in my life, but now? Why?
"No" I said with no expression.
"Oh- okay... but why?!" she disappointingly said. I sighed. "Because I am not fond of human interaction thank you very much. I am happy here, alone."
Allison gave me a weird look. "You know.. you have a strange eye colour. I've never seen anyone with red eyes."
Fuck, she can see my red eyes? I really shouldn't of came to school today.
"Wait. You see them as red?" I whispered "Well, duh." She said with confusion.
I panicked. Nobody is supposed to see my eyes as red. They're supposed to be grey for fucks sake.
I grabbed her arm, and pulled her out of the classroom. "Get off me!" She yelled. I let go. "How long have you seen them as red?" I said, questioning her. "
What do you mean? They've always been red, Levi?"
This bitch. Why did it have to be her who can see them. I've got to tell her. I paced around the corridor. Fuck.
"What I'm about to tell you is important. You must NEVER tell anybody. Got it?" I stated.
"Uh, sure?... what is it Levi?"
"You've heard of the different realms, right?"
Allison gave me a confused look.
"Yes, I have. There is the human realm, which is us. The fire realm and the Air realm if I'm correct."
I took a deep breath. "I'm not from here. I'm apart of the fire realm."
She stared at me. Horrified. She's probably going to tell the police eventually.
"W-What?"
"Mhm. You can't tell anyone. I'll explain why I'm here, but we need to go somewhere more private." I said, whispering.
"Oh o-okay."
I can tell she's thinking. 'Why I'm I here? What is my duty here, etc'
I honestly don't even wanna be here. I wanna be at my actual home. But I can't, I'll die going back.
"I know a place we can go." Allison whispered.
I looked at her. I've got to be cautious of her now, she might snitch on me.
Allison grabbed my hand, and lead me onwards..

9:30am
We was outside this disgusting building. Vines and moss covered the outside of the stone-built building. Luckily, it looks abandoned.
Allison turned to me. "Follow me"
She walked around the back of the building, and climbed through a window, which had been broken into.
I looked around. Nobody was here. I climbed through the window, and inside I was.
I looked at Allison, who was staring at me.
"Well why are you here, in the human realm?"
I sighed. "My realm and the Air realm have been at war for quite awhile. About a year ago, the air realm raided us and took over. Since I was due to be next in throne, I had to escape otherwise I was to be executed.."
She was shocked. Mortified.
"I- you're part of the royal family in your realm?" she said, questioning me.
"Yes."
I looked around the room. It was dirty. Even more disgusting than the outside.
"Does the Air realm know your here?"
I turned my head towards her. "No. Well not for now." I stated. "I wouldn't be surprised if they started a war with the human realm." I mumbled.
Allison is speechless, confused, unable to process what I've told her. "I-"
"-It's better if I leave now. See you at school I guess." I turned around to face the window. "also if you tell anyone, I swear to god I'll kill you." I calmly said.
I climbed out, and walked down the path leading towards the building.
She better not tell anyone about this...
