This contest aims to help you show off your storytelling talent in the language you are most comfortable with. Write your heart out and treat us to some phenomenal Valentine's tales.
The rules for the contest are as follows:
Your story must be 0-up to 3000 words.
Your story must be in one of the listed languages. (See previous chapter.)
It should be a story that you've specifically written for this contest.
Your story must follow one of the prompts that you can find in the 'Prompts' chapter.
Your story must follow the outlined by Wattpad.
You must submit your story using the following Please, feel free to share the link to your story in comments as well, but keep in mind the form is the official means of entry.
We will be assessing stories on spelling and grammar, narrative voice, relation to the prompt, and overall creative execution. However, the prompts are open enough for you to follow your heart and give us a great story!
Your story must carry the tag #ValentinesContest2021. Add this in the tags section from your story editing page.
The final and most important rule: have fun and show us what you've got!

Unity:
Today's the day a new you is stepping out into the world, forgetting about all that kept you down. It's a "new you" party and you'll shine, 'cause you want to... loving yourself, just the way you are is how you'll be free.
Give us a tale of empowerment through the transformative power of love, however you interpret it, wherever it can be found!
Science Fiction:
The capacity to love is at the core of what defines us at humans, it is known throughout the galaxy. However, what if you find yourself facing a humanoid and they ask you this simple but very complicated question "Can you show them what love is with one simple example?". What would you say?
General Fiction
You meet someone at a café and engage in a lively conversation. As it progresses you realize, you have met them before and have beautiful memories of the encounter. Tell us what happened.
Fright
You are a monster, indubitably. Is there something wrong with that? Just like every other person out there you have your quirks, your good days and your bad days. You love yourself the way you are. But ever since you found "the one" it has become a little bit unnerving. But isn't love all encompassing? Tonight's the night! You will unveil yourself and tell the truth while convincing them you will love them truly and faithfully, and passionately, no matter what others think about your kind.
Romance:
Human beings give and receive love in different ways. From a small act of kindness to a gentle caress, the language of love is vastly unique. Just like any other learning process, it can be studded with misunderstandings, funny ideas and lovely mix-ups. Tell the story of a couple and their journey together, whether they have just met, or are reminiscing after for a long time.
Fantasy
After being trapped in a sleeping spell, you wake up with the help of the magic of true love's kiss. However, the person who awakens you is... unexpected. Who is this person? Tell us your story before the kiss...
Badass:
A pair of misfits set up a campaign to protest against the concept of 'love', that will lead us into a journey of self discovery.
Fandom:
One day you receive a text on a social network from your favorite fandom character/idol, it was so unexpected that it could be a dream! Their message says: "Please, I need your help. I saw you're my fan, I've read all the messages of love and appreciation you sent me and I extremely need you to be my fake boyfriend/girlfriend for Saint Valentine's day, because..." Rewrite and complete the sentence in your fanfiction and tell us the rest of the story of this incredible and unpredictable Saint Valentine's day!
Youngling:
Online classes made interactions difficult. And well, being the new student in a virtual class... sigh. However, as restrictions are lifted, you get a message. "I'd love to meet you face to face!", coming from that intriguing student that was present in class, but never crossed a word with you. Would you go? What will you find, if you dare?
