Today you were getting ready for your first date with Charlie. Charlie Gillespie, your childhood crush and close friend. The two of you recently got extremely close over the course of the past couple of months. More flirtatious with each other and you definitely noticed the butterflies that swarmed around in your stomach when you were around him or thought of him. It was something you couldn't shake.

Sometime last week when Charlie invited you over to his place to hang out. He got the courage to finally ask you out. You thought it was so cute. He was all flustered and nervous. He was never like that. He's always so bold and acts so strong in front of everyone but behind closed doors and with you he was a softie. A big ol teddy bear for that matter. You smiled thinking of that memory as you started your playlist and got on your way of getting yourself ready

Charlie had been planning this for weeks. He wanted it to be special. He wanted it to be your last first date. So with that, he didn't let you in on anything he was planning. All you knew were the day and time. But, you trusted Charlie didn't have a single worry or fear. You did worry about what you were going to wear though. He did mention wanting to be cute but comfortable. So you headed to your small closet to see what would best fit that description.

It took you a second but you came across one of your sundresses. One that wasn't too restricting and very flowy plus it was a cute baby blue! Smiling at your decision you put it on and then start your makeup when you get a facetime call from Charlie. You set it up on your vanity and answered.

"Hey you, I was just getting ready!" You say once you did answer.

"Well hello beautiful, I can see that." He says complimenting you making your face heat up looking over at his adorable smiling face through your phone screen. Seeing his smile made you smile.

"Did you want me to meet you somewhere or were you gonna come pick me up?" You ask moving on to your mascara. Charlie just looked at you in awe. Wondering how he got so lucky that an amazing girl like you said yes to a date with little ol him.

"I'll come pick you up, not a problem." He says watching your every move as you continued on with your makeup.

"Ok, I can't wait." You say honestly

"Neither can I." He said holding the biggest smile.

"Well, I will let you finish getting ready. I just wanted to see your pretty face. I'll see you soon." He says as you smile waving goodbye to him before he hangs up. You sighed. You really had it bad for this boy.

Once you finished your makeup you sent Charlie a text saying you were ready. Flattening out your dress you take one last look in the mirror before there is a knock on your door. Your heart skips a beat opening the door seeing Charlie on the other side with a picnic basket and a bouquet of your favorite flowers.

"Charlie." You say speechless. He stood on the other side of the door speechless as well. He looked at you and couldn't take his eyes off you even for a split second.

"Y/N, you look beautiful. Uh, these are for you!" He says handing you the flowers. You smiled, taking them from him and smelling them.

"They are beautiful Charlie. How did you know these were my favorite?" You say gesturing to him inside closing the door behind him.

"You, uh, said it one time we were hanging out and I'm a great listener." He said getting shy just like he was when he asked you out. Cue the butterflies. He remembers the little things too.

"Oh, thank you. That actually means a lot." You say as you set the flowers on your countertop.

"Of course. So I hope you haven't eaten yet because I planned for us to go on a picnic to the park just across the street!" He proudly says holding the picnic basket.

"I actually have yet to eat today so I am hungry and ready to go!" You tell him as he smiles, grabbing your hand and leading you out the door and outside. The two of you walked in comfortable silence hand in hand over to the park. Once you found a nice sunny but shaded area, you helped him lay out the blanket that he had brought. When you unfolded the blanket one of his hoodies fell out of it.

"Missing something?" You say laughing as you pick it up and hand it to a red face Charlie.

"I um, actually brought it for you incase you got cold." He says sheepishly rubbing the back of his neck.

"You really know how to make a girl feel special Charlie." You say placing a hand on his shoulder and kissing his cheek before sitting down on the blanket. Charlie followed and started to unpack the basket. He had a variety of food. He didn't know exactly what you were going to be in the mood for so he kinda went a bit crazy you could say.

He did bring some plastic wine glasses and some sparkling apple cider for the two of you to share. "You really outdid yourself Charlie. I love it." You say taking your cup and clinking it with his. He smiled at you making your heart flutter.

"Only the best for you." He said, cheesy but he meant it.

You dug into the food and into conversation with Charlie. The day was filled with laughter, some inside jokes were made and memories definitely were too. The breeze did decide to pick up so you were grateful that he thought of that and you. You grabbed his hoodie and pulled it over your dress. It instantly smelt like him and as if you were wrapped up in one of his famous hugs. You smile pulling the sleeves past your hands and hugging yourself a little bit.

Charlie absolutely loved the sight of you in his hoodie. He was mentally patting himself on the back that his cheesy idea actually worked.

"Before we started cleaning up everything I wanted to take a picture. If that was okay with you." He asks, making you nod. You go to sit closer to him thinking he wanted a picture with you but really he was just trying to get a picture of you for him to keep close to him at all times. So you let him. He was lucky he was so cute or else you would have said no. You look down and realized that you were still wearing his hoodie in the picture

"Charlie, wait. Take another one so I can take this off this time." You say grabbing the ends of it to take it off when he stopped you.

"I like this one better." He said winking at you, making you blush but melt inside.

"Ok, but now. Take one with me please." You say pulling out your front facing camera and snapped a couple selfies of the two of you. You smiled satisfied looking at the pictures then helping Charlie pick up. He collected all the trash and walked over to a nearby trash can throwing everything away before walking back to you.

"Well, let's get you home." He says grabbing your hand in his and the picnic basket in the other. You smile wrapping your free hand around his arm and lean onto his shoulder as you two walk back to your apartment.

Once you made it back to your apartment you both just kind of awkwardly stood there before you both decided to say something at the same time.

"You go." He says laughing.

"I really enjoyed today Charlie, you made me feel really special." You say blushing as he smiled.

"Of course. I kinda wanted this to be your last first date." He admitted saying he wanted to do this more often with you. Your heart fluttered.

"I have a good feeling it will be." You say kissing his cheek.

"You missed." He says after you pulled away. You looked at him confused

"You missed," He said shrugging, then put his hand on your face and pulled you in to kiss you. You didn't wanna be cliche but you felt sparks. He did too. You pulled away as you both had the biggest smile on your face.

"I'll see you soon Charlie." You say heading into your apartment. Once you closed the door, on one side Charlie was there celebrating and pumping his fist in the air. On the other hand you were leaned up against it feeling great.

"Woo." You heard Charlie somewhat yell from the other side of the door making you smile and laugh slightly. I think it was official to say that this man had completely stolen your heart.
