Catcall (noun);
"A shrill call or whistle; a form of sexual harassment."
Ladies and gentlemen, have you ever been in this situation where you feel totally helpless and possibly degraded? I know I have. Well, what irks me is catcalls.
Take no offence guys, I'm not implying that all guys (possibly girls) are like that. It's just a minority. In fact, one action doesn't define who guys are. At the end of the day, it is your choice. Everyone has a choice. It's just a matter of choosing.
Oh, see that person over there? You have a few choices: a) catcall and announce to the whole world or b) keep your comments to yourself. There is a saying, "If you have nothing nice to say, then don't."
Back to catcalling, do you ever consider how that person feels? Utter embarrassment, lower self-esteem and many more.
Show some consideration and respect. Why don't you put yourself in their shoes? Would you still feel dignified? Our bodies are not epitomised to be sexual objects.
There are some women who even if they wore just sweatpants and jumper, would still be harassed. Would they still feel safe to roam the streets even in daylight where fear lurks from within?
So what I'm trying to say is that, think twice. Words have the power to make or break a person's resolve. Is it worth it?
Think about that.
