Valentines Day Special: Tavern Trouble

"A date?" She repeated

"Yeah a date. So how about it?" I propped my head on my hand while I watched her shoot some targets she had set up earlier.

"Hmm... If Harley isn't going on a mission then yeah maybe." She kept her eyes trained on the targets landing bullseye after bullseye.

I sigh of course it's if her little brother wasn't doing anything. She was way too overprotective.

"Come on Lesley you know your little brother is strong in his own and besides his teammates will protect him." I whined

She lowered her rifle and turned to narrow her eyes at me "Gusion you know full well how much I prioritize Harley's safety. My happiness comes second."

That comment didn't sit right with me "Is that what you think about yourself? Second?" My voice came out steady and cold.

She looked taken aback by my comment "Gusion I—"

"Forget it." I cut her off and got up walking away then immediately feeling embarrassed for snapping at her.

I guess her little comments about herself finally got to me. I really wanted to show her that she deserved to be happy. That she was suppose to be number 1 in her life.

I walked out of the woods and headed for town. I walked around town with no particular destination. Occasionally chuckling at items I thought would suit Lesley well.

Two outfits caught my attention. It was a matching outfit obviously for lovers. The dress was a strapless dress adorned with black red and white frills. A rose with red frills was fixed to the right and two silver strings mimicking thorns wrapped around the dress. The suit was in the same theme as the dress only there were not as much ruffles as the dress. It looked exactly like something I would wear. (Too lazy to describe Gusion's Dangerous Liaison outfit)

I chuckled as I imagined Lesley in the outfit. I was about to walk away when someone crashed into me. I stumbled but caught myself. The person that crashed into me was now on the ground.

"Ow..." A elf with blonde hair winced.

I offered a hand out and she took it "Sorry Gusion and thanks I wasn't paying attention."

"No harm done." I replied

"Oh hey have you seen Alucard anywhere? We were suppose to meet up to discuss our plan for our mission."

I shook my head "Sorry I haven't—" I paused "Mission?"

"Yeah we signed up for it. It's a mission for couples. I don't know why but it is." She answered with a shrug.

"Are there more missions like that?" I asked my interest piquing

"Yeah there are tons more like that. My guess is that since it's nearing Valentine's someone playing Cupid is putting these up."

"Did Princess Silvanna approve of these missions?"

"Yes since it isn't anything gruesome. They're just gathering information or retrieving something rare." She paused "I'be heard it takes a while to finish so today would be a good time to sign up for one." She quickly added

I nodded "So where do I sign up?"

She gave me a weird look "You? Sign up? Gusion you know you need a partner right? Since when did you have a significant other?"
