A little warning before reading this chapter.
There is a descriptive description of a corpse.
If you aren't comfortable with that you can skip the No One's P.O.V. part.
Don't worry you're not missing anything too major.

"Oh don't worry we can accompany Harley to Lumina City! Miya's superrrr strong!" A pink haired Leonin chirped happily.

The elf whose name was just mentioned rubbed her neck and a light red tint was noticeable on her cheeks "Nana that's a bit much..." she mumbled

I was skeptical of this elf. I didn't trust her as I had only met her now. Well "met" is not the right word. More like seen.

Elves were know to be quite friendly but that wasn't enough for me to trust this elf.

But heck what could I do? Come out of hiding and shout "No! My little brother will not be traveling with a suspicious person like you!"

I let out a soft sigh as I turned to head back to the inn I'd been staying at for the past few days.

"How long has this corpse been here?" Gusion questioned a demon hunter with blonde hair while staring at a corpse of a woman and a child.

Their bodies were quite mangled as if they were attacked by a wild beast. Their heads had been twisted and their facial expressions frozen in fear, the horror they'd witnessed seemingly still etched on their faces. Bits and pieces of flesh from both the bodies were missing while dried blood pooled around them on the grass. The stench enough to make one gag. A horrific sight for anyone unlucky enough to stumble across the decaying corpses.

"About three to five days." The guy answered.

Gusion clicked his tongue and twirled his dagger. He disappeared and reappeared with white lilies in his arms a few moments later. He also carried a dark blue tarp while he laid on the corpses. After he laid the lilies on top of the tarp.

"They've been getting closer and closer to the towns lately."

The blonde nodded in agreement "Soon enough to they'll start attacking them."

"Shouldn't you answer the summoning from her Highness?" Gusion asked lifting his gaze to meet the blonde.

"You know why I don't want to. I still need time." The blonde's eyes hardened. Sorrow, anger, and confusion mixed in his deep blue eyes.

"Whatever you say. Alucard."

"Oh you're back." I said looking up from a book I'd picked up from a stall when I had went shopping earlier.

Gusion snapped his head up seemingly surprised to see me. "Oh yeah I am."

I frowned was I that shocking to see? "Something the matter?" I inquired

He shook his head and sighed "No nothing just a few issues I have to deal with."

"Does it have something to do with what happened on that night?"

"Oh uh... Yes." He replied with a hint of uncertainty in his voice.

I picked up on it but decided not to press on. He'll tell me when he's ready I reassured myself. Although I didn't know when that would be. I had to admit I was getting a little too comfortable around him.

"Well anyway what did you come here for?" I asked changing the subject.

He looked relieved to finally move on from the topic "I came here to drop off some pastries I thought you might like."

"Pastries?" I repeated getting a little excited at the thought of some sweets.

Damn he had figured out my weak spot.

He nodded while walking over to dresser and plopping down the white box he was holding.

"What kind?" I asked

He chuckled "I don't know I asked them to surprise me."

"How long are you going to follow me?" I groaned as I narrowed my eyes at Gusion who had now been openly following me since this morning.

"I don't know I have plenty of time to kill." He replied spinning a dagger in his hands.

"Don't you have anything better to do?" I inquired raising a hand to rub my temples.

"Nope." He said with confidence "Not that I know of at least."

Sighing I hopped off the branch I'd nestled in and landed on the forest floor. I began to walk in the direction Harley's group had set off in.

"I'm surprised you can land with those heels." he chuckled landing behind me and following me.

"I'm surprised I haven't shot you in the head yet." I muttered underneath my breath.

"What was that?"

I just know he had that annoying smirk was on his face right now "Nothing."

He spent the next few hours pestering me as we walked.

"Can you shut up for one moment?" I finally snapped turning around and glaring at him.

"No can—" A thump cut whatever he was going to say off.

I immediately reached for my rifle readying it as he also became more alert "What was that?"

He shook his head indicating that he didn't know either.

Great the one time he shuts up was when there's danger. I rolled my eyes at that thought.

A bunny hopped out of the foliage followed by other animals all in a rush to flee from something or someone. I felt that same feeling from when I had encountered that assassin. The same chilling feeling of danger.

"Gusion. We need to get out of here." I whispered.

He nodded in agreement. But before we could take a step in the other direction, everything went dark.
