I aimed the pistol Vaas handed to me at the target in front of me. I used the same type of gun I had used against Ace. I lined up my shot, took a deep breath, exhaled, and squeezed the trigger. I missed the target by nearly two feet, completely avoiding hitting the wood. Vaas was beside me on the right, pointing out all my mistakes.
"Wow, you suck. Okay, so a few things. Never lock your elbows, keep your breathing steady. For beginners, it's easier to pull the trigger during your exhale." He told me. I did what he said. I unlocked my elbows. I made sure my breathing was fine.
"What did you do before killing Ace?" He asked.
"I held the pistol up and just pulled the trigger with my eyes closed. I was on my knees and I freaked out."
"And managed to get a good shot. With your eyes shut? Fuck, those guys didn't tell me that when they brought you in. Now try it again." He said to me. I nodded and aimed down my sights, my elbows were fine, I breathed in, finger on the trigger, I breathed out, slowly pulling the trigger.
Bang
The gun went off, the target moved.
"Yes!" I said, happily. Finally. We went through almost two mags already after breakfast. Vaas put his hand on my gun and aimed it to the ground. He made his way over to the target, seeing the little new bullet sized hole in it. He whistled, walking back over to me.
"Not bad, Moana, but didn't hit the center. Few inches off, but still was good. Let's keep at it, then we'll try an automatic next."
"Okay." I said as I brought the gun back up. Aimed down my sights, steady stance, elbows are fine. Breathe in, breathe out...
Bang
"Ha!" I was getting better. Vaas nodded, smiling at me. I returned it, I fired again, and again, and again until the mag was empty. Vaas took the gun from me and placed it on the table before checking on the target. He turned around, giving me a thumbs up.
"Two bullseyes. You're doing better, Moana. Next round." He handed me an Ak-47. It was heavy.
"Whoa. An assault rifle?"
"A lot more different from a pistol. Make sure you got a good grip on it and your aim won't be shitty. Same thing with the pistol. Same stance, breathe." I nodded and aimed at the bullseye. Breathe in, breathe out. Pull the trigger...
Bangangangangang
The gun went off, the recoil was insane. Completely caught me off guard, my aim went from the bullseye to the freaking blue sky. Vaas swiftly placed his hand on the gun after I let go of the trigger, while mocking me with laughter.
"You weren't kidding, a whole lot more different from a pistol. Holy crap." I said laughing. It scared the crap outta me.
"I know, more fucking power. Okay, okay. Now try it again, a good grip on it this time, jesus." He said, letting go of the gun, letting me take control again, not sure if that's a good idea. He stood there, with his arm crossed, watching me. Okay, Moana, you got this. Breathe in, and breathe out... you can do this...
Bangangangangang
Okay, this time I didn't mess up as bad, the recoil was still off, but it got a little better. I decided not to stop just yet, I repeated the whole thing, and pulled the trigger, I was doing a lot better in almost ten minutes, I could see newly made bullet holes in the center, and around it. After I realized the mag was empty, I grinned to myself and looked to Vaas. He was nodding, looking at me and smiling again.
"Getting better, nice. Wanna try something else next?" I nodded, before he handed me a shotgun, a pirate walked over towards Vaas. Looked at me for a moment, then looked over to Vaas.
