Nine: Prefects Bathroom

The next day Gia woke before Fred. It was the day of the first task. Fred's arms were wrapped around Gia protectively. She moved his arm. She knew he was a hard sleeper, especially in the mornings. It was cold on that late November morning. She pulled on a knit jumper that was a pale green. Green always made her look paler than she truly was, she hated it. She much preferred warmer tones. She also had on dark jeans and an old black leather jacket that was too big for her.

Fred awoke and was looking at her from the bed as she pulled small pieces of hair out from her ponytail. He got up from the bed and planted a kiss in her hair as he went to the bathroom. He came out in his jumper and a tan jacket with a hat covering most of his fiery red hair.

"You're quite handsome in the mornings. Did you know that?" she gave him a soft smile and he turned to look at her.

"I thought I was handsome all the time?" He pulled her into him and leaned in to kiss her but stopped before their lips touched. "I told George I would stay with him today," he whispered as their lips touched when he spoke. He kissed her briefly before she replied.

"That's fine Fredrick. I'll see you at the First Task." she kissed him as he walked out the door.

"I- I...Yeah," he began to speak but turned away before he could finish, shoving his hands in his pockets.

Gia and Draco walked down to the first task together. She could hear Fred and Geroge yelling. They were taking bets on who would win the first task. Gia had wished Harry good luck at breakfast but he just ignored her. His demeanour was to be expected because James was sitting across from him.

Her older brother and best friend were already sitting together. James had his arm around Alice and they were looking down at the rocks below. Draco was dressed in all black. He and Gia were almost identical except for their hair colour. The Black resemblances in both of them were very prominent. Except something about her was different, unexpectedly softer.

Fred was with George and Lee. They were standing with Angelina, Ginny, Ron, James and Alice. Draco, Crabbe, Goyle, Theo and Gia approached them and sat a row in front of them. Fred was sitting next to Angelina and George. Gia flashed him a look of annoyance but he didn't seem too concerned. Gia was sitting in front of Fred and he leaned down and kissed behind her ear.

Theo sat next to Gia. He looked at her, visibly upset, but said nothing. Fred continued to kiss her on her neck and behind her ear until Gia turned around and gave him another look of annoyance. Draco turned to Gia and looked at her concerned.

"Oi! Baby! Come sit up here with me!" Fred yelled loud enough for all of their friends to hear. She turned around and gave him a confused look. He held out his hand and she grabbed it. He pulled her from her seat and onto his lap. "This alright?" He was giving her a mischievous look but she didn't care. They heard a roar from below them and then a sound of a cannon.

Cedric emerged from the tent placed across the field of rocks. His task felt like hours. Transfiguration was not the best idea. Accio egg maybe, too obvious maybe. After Cedric and the others got their eggs Harry emerged from the tent. Gia's heart dropped. She was so worried for him. He was very timid. Ginny and Hermoine looked just as worried.

"Well done dragon!" Fred and George yelled as the dragon erupted flames from its mouth. Harry was trying to outrun the dragons fire when Hermoine yelled something at Harry. Gia couldn't hear over Fred and Georges cheering. Harry waved his wand and stood staring at the sky for a moment when she saw his firebolt soar into his path. She gave a sigh of relief. Something she knew he was excellent at. Something safe.
