Sienna's visions stopped when she was on the quinjet, and she noticed everyone's pitying looks sent to her every so often. Clint and Natasha had inklings of what she had seen, but no one else even knew. All they knew was that Sienna was completely broken at the moment. She refused to speak or look anyone in the eye. Her eyes were rimmed red with tears. And her voice was shot from crying. She barely felt in when they landed and refused to get up for a minute. The team exchanged glances before Steve went over to her. Clint was supporting Nat and couldn't take the two of them.
"Sienna, come one," He says gently, helping her stand. She did so silently, her eyes not focusing at all. Steve let her lean against him as they walked into Clint's house. Normally she would be ecstatic to see Laura and the kids. Right now though, she couldn't register a thing. As she slowly gained the ability to register things she heard Tony's quips and laughed. Steve glanced at her, happy that Sienna was coming back to them a bit.
"Did you bring Auntie Nat and Auntie Sia," Lila asked Clint. Sienna pushed herself off of Steve and walked over to Nat after hearing her name.
"Why don't you hug her and find out?" Natasha asked Lila, who ran into her arms. Sienna smiled, though it didn't quite reach her eyes. She then took Lila from Natasha and hugged the little girl before putting her down.
"I missed you both," Laura told Natasha and Sienna. Sienna nodded at the statement.
"I missed you as well," Sienna told her, her voice still hoarse. Natasha glanced at the younger woman who shook off her pitying gaze. She would be alright, she always was.
"I missed you, How's little Natasha, huh?" Natasha asked Laura.
"She's... Nathaniel," Laura admitted. Sienna snorted, glancing at Natasha's offended face.
"Traitor," Natasha whispered to Laura's belly. This caused Sienna to fully laugh, which pleased Natasha. They dissolved into a small talk, though Sienna was uncharacteristically quiet. She watched Thor walk out, but made no move to follow him or Steve. Later on, Sienna chose to stay in the living room, not wanting to take rooms that her teammates could be using. Clint and Natasha both tried to argue her out of it, but she was having none of it. After everyone dispersed, she sat on the couch, watching Steve and Tony out the window.
"Hey..." Clint said softly, sitting next to her. She was startled out of her thoughts and jumped a bit, looking over to him, "Sorry... didn't mean to startle you, Sienna."
"I'm fine," Sienna shook her head, "Did you need something, Clint?"
"Are you actually okay?" Clint pressed, "And no BS answer either, I want the truth, Sienna Callahan."
"I'm not fine," Sienna admitted, her voice starting to break.
"Do you want to talk about what you saw?" Clint asked her, with a soothing and gentle voice.
"I was on the edge of a cliff," Sienna explained, "And you know how I'm afraid of heights, especially the fall. What you and Nat don't know is that I have a worse fear than that... I'm afraid of being alone and I'm afraid of being betrayed... It was just that Clint.... I saw all of you telling me that I was terrible, that I wasn't to be trusted, that I didn't deserve to be an Avenger... Clint... I saw my family being pulled away from me... and then you... you pushed me off that cliff... and that hurt more than anything..."
"Oh, Sia..." Clint pulled her in for a hug, comforting her in the best way he knew how, "You need to know that you are wanted and needed on this team, that none of us would ever abandon you. You are amazing, Sienna Callahan, and you better remember that."
"Thanks Clint," Sienna said gratefully, crying softly. Her and Clint stayed like that for awhile, Sienna crying into his shoulder while he comforted her. Then she stood up suddenly, claiming to need a shower before dinner. He let her go, knowing she needed the alone time. She headed back downstairs for dinner and was not shocked in the slightest to see Fury there.
"Ultron took you folks out of play to buy himself time," Fury claimed. Sienna stared at her food, picking at it absentmindedly. Her thoughts were running wild, "My contacts all say he's building something. The amount of vibranium he made off with, I don't think it's just one thing."
"What about Ultron himself?" Steve asked as Lila handed Sienna the picture after Natasha. Sienna smiled at it and kissed the girl softly on the forehead. She never had siblings of her own, but Clint's children were like her own tiny siblings sometimes.
"Oh, he's easy to track. He's everywhere," Fury answered Steve's question, "The guy is multiplying faster than a Catholic rabbit. It still doesn't help us get an angle on any of his plans, though."
"Is he still going after launch codes?" Tony asked. Sienna looked up, ready to join the conversation. After her vision she was determined to be more useful to the team in any way possible.
"Yes, he is," Fury responded, "But he's not making any headway."
"I cracked the Pentagon's firewall in high school on a dare," Tony claimed, causing Sienna to snort at the thought of teenage Tony.
"Well, I contacted our friends at the Nexus about that," Fury informed everyone.
"Nexus?" Steve asked, looking confused.
"It's the world Internet hub in Oslo," Bruce told him, "every byte of data flows through there, fastest access on earth."
"So, what did they have to say?" Sienna spoke up, getting everyone's attention. She pretended not to notice."
"He's fixated on the missiles," Fury responded, the only one being nonchalant about Sienna speaking up, "But the codes are constantly being changed."
"By whom?" Tony asked before dodging a dart. Clint had a smug look on his face afterwards. Sienna glared at Clint half-heartedly, but she was laughing at him as well.
"Parties unknown," Fury answered, looking done with everyone's antics.
"Do we have an ally?" Natasha asked, looking for hope.
"Ultron's got an enemy," Fury replied, "That's not the same thing."
"It could be though," Sienna speculated.
"Still, I'd pay folding money to know who it is," Fury gave Sienna a look that meant 'don't get your hopes up'.
"I might need to visit Oslo," Tony stated, "Find our unknown."
"Well, this is good times, boss," Natasha said to Fury, "but I was kind of hoping when I saw you, you'd have more than that."
"You're asking for a lot," Sienna commented with an eye roll.
"I do, I have you," Fury told Natasha, "Back in the day, I had eyes everywhere, ears everywhere else. Here we all are, back on earth, with nothing but our wit, and our will to save the world. Ultron says the Avenger's are the only thing between him and his mission. And whether or not he admits it, his mission is global destruction. All this, laid in a grave. So stand. Outwit the platinum bastard."
"Steve doesn't like bad words," Sienna jokes, sending a smirk towards the man in question.
"You know what, Callahan?" Steve raised a brow at her, causing her to snicker.
"So what does he want?" Fury asked, redirecting the conversation.
"To become better," Steve replied, looking up. Sienna sighed and nodded in agreement, "Better than us. He keeps building bodies."
"Creepy," Sienna said, taking another bite of her food. Natasha sent her a smirk and Clint snorted at her comment.
"The human form is inefficient, biologically speaking, we're outmoded," Tony spoke up, "But he keeps coming back to it."
"When you two programmed him to protect the human race, you amazingly failed," Natasha told Bruce and Tony.
"They don't need to be protected," Bruce stated, "They need to evolve. Ultron's going to evolve."
"How?" Fury asked, setting his drink back down. Sienna perked up, also wanting to know the answer.
"Has anyone been in contact with Helen Cho?" Bruce asked the room. Sienna cursed under her breath. The team continued to talk strategy for a while before retiring. Sienna laid down on the couch, curling her knees into her chest. She had a lot to think about, so think she did.
