Chapter 5 - Familiar

Y/n POV:

'Gosh, this is awkward' I thought. 'I have to do something, this is so weird, I thought I was ready now. Why is my heart pounding? Am I scared??'

Levi coughed to get rid of the uncomfortable situation. I have to pretend to be Violet, not Y/n.

Levi: "So is Violet Sier Manker really your name?"

Y/n - Violet: "Yes Sir. Why wouldn't it be?" I said confused. 'he's must be suspicious. Well, at least he didn't fully recognize me.'

Levi's POV:

She denied it. I have a way of finding out if it's really her. But I have to do all of it to confirm it.

Shadis said she has potential. I'll put it to the test.

I suddenly tried to punch her from behind but to my surprise, she grabbed my fist without flinching and she then twists it and pinned me on the ground.

Y/n - Violet: "What the hell? Why'd you do that?" I scolded him. I offered him my hand to help him stand back up.

Levi: "I had to know if you truly have the potential Shadis is talking about. Turns out you do." I explained while wondering how could she be so strong, 'I can't even move a muscle'.

Y/n - Violet: "Sorry sir. It's just that, I'm not used to people suddenly touching me."

Levi: "Go and eat your dinner. Rest. We'll train early in the morning and after your training with the other cadets. I will also be your partner in combat training." I stopped walking and told her, "You did well tonight, you remind me of someone I knew." 'She can't be Y/n. It quite impossible, right?'

Y/n - Violet: "See you again tomorrow sir!" I saluted and went to the Mess Hall. After dinner I immediately ready myself to go sleep.

*time skip: (1 year later)(you are 18 yrs old)*

A/n POV:

You were obviously doing very well in training, you were excellent. You also grew closer to Levi but still didn't reveal your true identity. You decided to tell him a year before you graduate.

Erwin Smith usually visits the Cadets 3-5 days a week. But this time, he will be here at the Training Corps 24/7 and will be observing the cadets while training.

The purpose of his visit is so that he can choose cadets that deserve a spot, if they want it, in the scouts. He will also be needing them for a mini-expedition in a month.

Y/n POV:

I'll definitely catch his attention. I have to make sure to get into the Survey Corps. I need to.

I woke up earlier than ever and started in your warm-up exercises. After an hour, I rested, making sure I didn't tire myself. I went to the Mess Hall to grab breakfast and then went to the training ground with my friends.

*Erwin Smith arrives*

We trained the whole day and of course, I stood out as always.

A/n POV:

While training, Erwin mostly had his eyes on you because you were too good.

He read your profile and wondered how could a simple girl from Shiganshina be so good at almost everything without formal training in the past.

He would sometimes train you and the other cadets too. You decided to gradually loosen up, and carefully let go of your grudge against Levi and Erwin.

Both Erwin and Levi also noticed that you resembled someone from a long time ago.

On the last night of his stay, you were called by Levi to meet Erwin in private. You were not happy nor angry. You just didn't know how to react. 'What if he recognized me and secretly investigate me with Levi since he is also a bit suspicious of me' I thought.

You arrived outside Erwin's office and knocked. Levi was already sitting on the couch reading a newspaper when you entered the room. Hanji was also there. You guess Hanji has also been observing you secretly.

They looked at you with curious eyes. They also looked as if they're trying to hold themselves back from being angry.

Your a telepath and you already know that they are gonna ask you questions. You were beyond nervous because you might get emotional and then hurt someone. After all, you lost control. You're tired of lying because you know what it's like to be lied to. It will be the death of you.

'I need to get this off my chest. I need to be honest, I can expose myself but not my friends. Though I don't like humanity, I am not heartless' you told yourself before entering the room.
