A/N: Hullo everyone that reads this! (which I think is only Dark Pit and Ashlyn.) We are taking a little side trip and leavng Hogwarts for most of this chapter. Also I apoligize for late update. I was supposed to post this chapter on Halloween, but my step dad closed out of this writing page before I could save it. -__________________- Whale was really not amused. Then I kind of forgot about it and got a bunch of cool story ideas and started those. I shall (hopefully) be posting my first chapter of my origanl book sometime before the end of the month. Any way here it is.

What happened after the encounter with james was mainly a blur. I left the warm, happy halls of hogwarts for my Uncles house. Dinner happened and finally I fell into warm blankets of a comfortable bed. It wasn't the same though.

I awoke on the day I dreaded most every year by soft sun light streamig through the windiow. I hated the sun today. Normally I loved the soft warm rays, but not today. The sunshine becokened a different kind of day. One I was not ready to face. The door creaked and my uncle, Donald, poked his head in. "Kayla," His rough voice echoed through the room, "It's time to wake up." I nodded and climbed out of bed. He handed me a dress. It was all black and very plain. "I picked one out behind Aunt Linda's back. You know what she would do." I shivered at the comment.

Aunt Linda was a over the top woman alwats wanting to go with lots of sparkels than rather simple. She always had layers of make-up plastered to her face and featery boas that tickeled my nose. If she had it her way, I would look like her. "Thanks Uncle Donald." With a stiff nod he left the room leaving me alone to change.

After I had changed i ran down the stairs to grab some breakfast hoping that I would not have an encounter with Aunt Linda. I heard a familar voice from behind me. "And where do you think your going miss?" The voice was layred with a fake enthusiasam and an overyly bright tone. Aunt Linda. Her blush was a bright pink and her eyeshadow an eyepopping blue. She wore layeres of foundation and blood red stained her lips. I scowled as she walked up to me her hand rubbing her chin in thought. "And what are you wearing." She frowned deeply at the dress. "It has your Uncles name written all over it."

"Well I think it's fine."

"Well you my dear are wrong. Now come I have much work to do."

" No. This is fine. I don't wa-" I began to protest but was quickly cut off.

"Please Kayla, your being ridicoulous. I know for the past few years my stunning wardrobe did little to impress you, but this year I nailed it. Can you give me a chance?"

I sighed giving in. "Fine." If it was humanley possibile her smile would have rose to the tips of her eyes.

"Magnificent! Now to the bathroom we go!" She ushered me along to the downstairs bathroom which had her entire spread of makeup lay in waiting on the counter. "This is going to be fun, but I don't want you to see until I am all done."

"Bu-"

"No buts now turn around." I sighed and did as I was told. It was several more minutes of make up and painful pulling at the knots in my hair before I was permitted to turn around. A face that stared back at me was not my own. It was much to beautiful. The make up was light and natrual. The blend bringing out my eyes. My lips were light, just a slight shine. My hair was curled and piled on my head in a bun with two wisps framing my face. It was perfect. "Do you like it?" My aunt was grinning from ear to ear.

"I'm so... pretty."

"You were always pretty dear. It just took a little makeup for you to notice. Now I'm going to go get the dress." She left leaving me alone with the girl in the mirror. I stared at her. Was that really me, or some illusion printed on the mirror. I touched the glass gently and so did the girl on the other side. Her face had the same expression of bewildment and astonishment as well as an undertone of curiouity. I guess she really was me. My aunt came back holding a black dress. I spun around mouth open.

It wasn't over the top like previous years. It had straps about three inches thick and the dress fell slightly past my knees. It was covered with a black see through material that had black poka dots on it. The material formed sleeves and ruffles that were at the very top of the dress. A black bow was around the waist. It was beautiful. I got dressed quickly. "Give me a spin," My aunt said with her plastic smile while twirling her finger. I obligied and spun in a quick circle.

I stopped dizziness overcoming me. Aunt Linda clapped. "Bravo, Kayla!" I smiled then laughed as my stomach grumbled.

"I'm starving. I'm going to go get something to eat."

"Please don't mess up your make-up darling!" I nodded and walked out the door only to bump into my uncle. He wore his normal expresionless face.

"It's time, Linda, Kayla." Suddenly my appetite was thrown out the window. I had forgotten what day it was. I had not gotten dressed up for fun. I had gotten dressed up to go to a memorial service. I slowly nodded and trailed behind my Uncle as he walked to the door. My aunt followed.  We all walked to the car parked in the driveway. My uncle was well aquinted with the old vechile and drove it often. I hopped in the back.

I don't remeber the drive, only the hallows eve decorated houses as we passed by. Soon we arrived at Grodic's Hollow where my old house was located. We stopped at a house marked 20. There were people whispering around the lawn, all wearing muggle clothes yet they wore them differently. I opened the door and the voices hushed. I walked up to my relatives with my uncle and aunt following. Linda and I stopped at the crowd and my uncle walked to the front. He cleared his thoat.

"Today we mourn the death's of my brother and sister-n-law Joseph and Lilth Patton. Lilth was a bright and kind witch who spread joy whereever she tread. Joseph was a strong man who opened his arms to all and accepted everyone..." The speech went on but by now I could not hear him. The voice in the back of my head was there whispering, 'It's your fault there dead. You killed them.'

'Is it my fault, was it my fault? It is. I plunged the knife through their hearts. I killed them. I laughed as they died. I-I-I,' I slipped away from the group and into the house in which I had grown up in. I colapsed in the doorway and cried.
