When Xiao Gu came back, he saw Husky being chained by the guards outside the guardhouse.

He stopped the car, opened the door and stepped out, "Tiantian, what are you doing here?

Husky cried when he saw him, and the guard came out of the kiosk to talk to him, "Just now, your dog came running out after a black car. I was afraid it would run out into the road, so I leashed him here. You didn't see it, your dog was barking so hard that I had a hard time getting him on a leash."

Xiao Gu frowned and crouched down. He rubbed Husky's head soothingly: "What happened? Where's Mi Qing?"

"Ow, ow, ow!" Xiao Gu's brow furrowed even tighter as Husky's cries flared up again.

There was no way Mi Qing could have left Tiantian alone. Something must have happened. He stood up, looked at the guard and asked, "That black car, do you know whose family car it is?"

The guard shook his head, "I haven't seen it before, it shouldn't be from the occupants here."

Xiao Gu frowned in thought, the guard continued, "There must be something wrong with this. Your dog doesn't bark so much for no reason. I did see your girlfriend return this morning with the dog, and it wasn't long before your dog ran out after the car."

"What about my girlfriend?"

"I didn't see her, now that I think about it, she might have been in that car."

The corners of Xiao Gu's mouth pursed into a straight line at the guard's narration, and he fell silent as he said to the guard, "I know, thanks."

He unleashed Husky, pulled him into the car and drove into the subdivision.

When he went upstairs, he took out his phone and dialed Mi Qing, her phone was off. He frowned and quickened his pace to the seventh floor, pulled out his key and unlocked the door.

The house was empty, still as it had been when he left. He glanced down at the entrance without Mi Qing's shoes.

The phone in his hand suddenly rang, and Xiao Gu's heart skipped a beat and he quickly picked it up.

"Hello, may I ask if this is Mr. Xiao?"

The unfamiliar male voice made Xiao Gu's heart sink. The moment the phone rang just now, he thought it was Mi Qing.

He took a breath and said in a hushed voice, "I am."

"Hello Mr. Xiao, we're the moving company and we're about to head to where you're staying right now, so I checked in with you on the phone first."

Xiao Gu glanced at a few large cardboard boxes placed in the living room, pursed his lips and said, "I'm sorry, I have something urgent to deal with temporarily today. I'll schedule another appointment with you guys later."

"Oh, okay then, please call us at least two days in advance."

"Got it." Xiao Gu hung up the phone and dialed Mi Qing's number again, but it was still off.

His hand clenched tightly around his phone for a few minutes, took a deep breath, pressing down the restlessness and anxiety in his heart, and gave Gu Xin a call.

Gu Xin was in the midst of revising a tune in the music room. Hearing the vibrations of the phone in his pocket, he wanted to hang up directly, but after seeing Xiao Gu's name, he still chose to pick it up: "You...."

"Mi Qing is gone."

Only one word came out of his mouth when he was interrupted by Xiao Gu. The low pressure surrounding Xiao Gu was transmitted to Gu Xin through the earpiece. He froze for a moment and instinctively quipped, "Hmm? Did Missy get so tired playing with you, and now doesn't want you?"
