Asra

Asra had vowed when he found out about you that he would use magic on you as little as possible. He did magic around you but beyond a protection charm and maybe a light charm for late nights, he didn't do much more. That was until tonight.

It was late. You were crying and only a month old at the max. Asra was tired and still grieving the loss of your mother. He had tried everything: you didn't require a new diaper, you weren't hungry, you didn't want to be held and he was at the end of his rope.

"(Y/n) please what's wrong? Are you sick?" He placed his hand on your forehead and you screeched. He snatched his hand away. You were running an extremely high fever. Fear gripped him. What if you had somehow gotten sick from your mother? He quickly packed a to-go bag and wrapped you up in his scarf to carry you against him. Faust slithered up to you and nestled into you're cheek wrapping herself carefully around you.

"Come on, we're going to Julian." Asra then remembered his neighbors and placed a silencing spell on you without thinking. When he realized what he had done he looked at you sadly. "Oh I know I'm so sorry my love. We need to go see Uncle Julian but he's on the other side of town and with you crying, we'd be labeled disturbers of the peace."

He quickly began his walk to Julian's and when he arrived he was only slightly shocked to hear he was at the Rowdy Raven.

"Let me see them, maybe I can help." Asra handed you over to Mazelinka who tutted and took you to the table. She sat you down and checked you over.

"They just have a cold. If you have the time to wait, I could make something to help with the discomfort." Asra nodded tiredly and sat down at the table. "Just rest your eyes for a minute. I'll let you know when it's done. He nodded convinced and fell asleep quickly. When he woke, it was well into the afternoon of the next day.

"Welcome back. (Y/n) is doing just fine, aren't you немного?" You laughed making Asra smile. It was refreshing to hear a noise from you that wasn't crying. He left to go back for the shop, soup in hand and a sleeping baby.

Portia

"Oh, I know. Hey shh. I know. It's okay." This was the mantra that was repeated as Portia walked through the cottage trying to soothe you. Your uncle was coming over later to give you your vaccines and then take you for an overnight with your Grandma.

"It's alright (y/n). Mom's here. Not like dad" She scoffed. "We're doing just fine without them though huh?" She looked at you. There was a knock at the door and Portia sighed putting you on the bed. "Pepi make sure they don't fall okay?"

"Peep!" Pepi took her job as cat nanny very seriously which made Portia smile. The knock sounded again pulling her back to reality.

"I'm coming! Sorry!" When she opened the door she was surprised to see Nadia there instead of Julian.

"I'm sorry to drop by so suddenly I just wanted to see if you needed any help with (y/n). You may want to see what's making Pepi make those noises." Portia started to laugh. "What?"

"That's not Pepi. It's (y/n)." Nadia blushed a little.

"Then I think I stopped by at the right time then. Now, what tortures have you been putting my godchild through?" Nadia walked into the bedroom and picked you up trying to calm you.

"Ilyas stopping by to visit them and give them their vaccines. I didn't even say anything but I swear they know!" Sitting at the table Nadia adjusted you to look at your mom. "They've quieted down a bit since you got here, but I don't know how to get them to stop."

"Maybe you don't have to? Let them cry themselves out, just holding them and see what happens." Portia nodded. She sat and watched the birds out the window before hearing the familiar thud and of her brother walking through her front door.
