I was in my bed when I heard my roommate Howard Johnson say, "get up sleeping beauty!"
"I'm already am up!"
Howard: then pull your pants up, stop jerking it, and let's get goin'.
"Dickhead."
I got dressed and walked to campus.
When I got there I saw that the side of the main building was vandalized again saying some uh, anti-Semitic shit? I guess you could call it I mean does anti-semitism apply to aliens and meta-humans? Whatever doesn't matter all it said was death to people with powers essentially.
"Of course, someone would waste their time on that."
Howard: does it really surprise you?
"Not at all, hell I can guess who did it."
Howard: let me guess, Eugene?
"Yep."
Howard: and why is that not surprising.
"*sigh* let's get going."
After classes
I walked into the lab where I found doctor Conners there working on the prosthetic we were working on.

You see Dr. Conners lost his arm a few years back and know I'm helping him help people like him and creating a new prosthetic that feels just like the old one.
However there were alternatives I had to talk doc out of going with, those where genetic alteration such as that of a lizard or a spider, for some reason.
"Hey doc! How are we coming along?"
Dr. Conners: we're almost finished remember, we just need to fix the joints and modify the programming and we should be good.
Then without warning the wall blew up and we flew back into a wall and one of the modified DNA serums fell onto me and broke, the pieces of glass dug into my skin and fell out and I felt something cold and wet on my back.
When I looked up it was Mammoth running through the building and I heard in the distance a motorcycle approaching, but before I could confirm anything I'm hearing, I pass out.
The next day
I wake up in a hospital bed and I see my mom sleeping in one of the chairs in the room.
She wakes up and sees that I'm awake and runs up to me and tackled me into a bear hug and says, "thank god you're alive!"
"Mom, do you mind loosening your grip a little? I kinda can't breath."
Mom: sorry... I'm just so glad you're awake.
She let's go and says, "I'll go get everyone, be right back."
