Hinata jumped as high as he could. He had been measuring how high he could jump with more and more training everyday. He needed to jump higher then the tallest person to play volleyball could ever reach.
The male jumped and jumped measuring each height. He was determined to jump higher than he ever has, but his motivation slowly plummeted to the ground.
"Shoyo?" Said boy turned his head and saw [Name] leaning on the doorframe of the door that lead to the backyard. [Name] stretched with a loud yawn "Why are you up so late?" Hinata grumbled clenching his fist. He needed to get better, his team was improving and he wasn't. He felt as if he was behind everyone else especially Kageyama. A set of rough hands sat on Hinata's shoulders, Hinata continued to stare at the ground with a troubled look.
"Shoyo, love look at me." Hinata looked up and was met with [Name]'s warm and loving eyes. [Name] cupped Hinata's flushed cheeks "You need to stop being so hard on yourself.." Hinata sighed placing his hand over his lover's "There will always be a time you doubt your skills." Hinata nodded at [Name]'s words "But you know you are an amazing player.." [Name] laid his forehead on Hinata's with closed eyes.
[Name] knew what it felt like to doubt yourself. Everyone with a hobby or skill they love knows what it feels like to doubt themselves. It happens to everyone. "You are going to have players that are better than you.." Hinata clenched his teeth, he didn't want anyone to be better than him. "But if you didn't have someone who is better than you.." [Name] opened his eyes and stared into Hinata's honey brown eyes. "Would you have any challenging opponents.." Hinata's eyes widened, He had never thought of it like that.
Hinata wasn't going to lie and say he liked the feeling of losing, but the opponents he's went against so far were amazing. Aoba Johsai, Tokonami, Nekoma and Date Tech. They were all amazing opponents that he hopes to face again when he's even better than he was before.
