chapter 3

It was now the beginning of May and summer was just around the corner. Veronica and I had become fast friends, me giving her life a little more if an adventure and her giving my life some normal feel. I had also begun to hand out with Noah more often which also brought along all his friends. All in all, school was okay, sure I missed Nick and Dwayne a lot, but we still talked every night and in 3 more weeks I would be back at the academy kicking their asses.

"Hey! Wait up!" Noah yelled running up from behind me. "Hey so I was wondering what you were doing later?" Noah asked trying not to sound out of breath, "Ummm not much probably going to the gym, then home to finish homework, why what's up?" "Well I was wondering if you wanted to go to the movies with me?" Now in the few short seconds that I thought I about this I was quite confused, was he asking me on a date, was he asking me as friends, I didn't know the closest thing I had to a boyfriend was this guy at the academy but even then Dwayne carried the poor guy off before he even had the chance to ask me out, so hesitantly without even realizing what I was saying I said sure and Noah promised to pick me up at my house at 7pm sharpen that night.

After I left the gym and drove into my driveway I was surprised to see Veronica sitting on my front porch waiting for me.

"Hey Veronica... whatcha doin here?"

"What do you mean 'what am I doing here?' I'm here to help you get dressed for your date silly!"

While I was jumping in the shower Veronica searched through my closet and by search I meant she was a tornado and my closet was a small farm in Kentucky.

"Veronica why are you taking so long to find something to wear can't I just wear jeans and t-shirt?"

"Jeans and a t-shirt? JEANS AND A T-SHIRT! ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!?!? NO YOU CAN'T WEAR JEANS AND A T-SHIRT IT'S YOU FIRST DATE YOU HAVE TO LOOK PRESENTABLE"

After her going through my closet for what seemed like an eternity she finally picked me out a plane white v neck with some light blue ripped jean shorts and shoes so simple rainbow sandals. Thinking we were done I began to head down stairs to watch some tv seeing as I still have a good 30 minutes left until Noah would be here until suddenly I was being yanked back into my room or more specifically my bathroom.

"We still need to do your makeup"

"Make up, really? I don't even own makeup."

"That's exactly why I brought some with me."

Exactly 30 minutes later the doorbell rang and Veronica ran down stairs to get it saying I need the whole walking down the stairs effect. So after I heard her close the door letting Noah in I left my room and began walking down the stairs.

"Wow you look beautiful"

"Thanks, you look good too Noah"

After finally escaping my house we walked to his car and off we went to the movies.

We ended up watching the new Wonder Woman movie which I was more than happy about because she was my all time favorite superhero! Once the movie was over we headed the local ice cream parlor in town Mariann's.

"So when did you and your family move into town?" Noah asked

"This summer actually, my dad got relocated here for his job. What about you? Have you lived here your whole life?"

"Ya, my parents both grew up here and they decided to live here. This town is all over known but it's honestly so great."

"Really, I guess I really haven't had the chance to see what this town has to offer."

"I'd be more than happy to show you around one of these days, I know the best spots in town"

After finishing our ice cream Noah drive me home and walked me to foor.

"Thank you Noah I had fun tonight."

"Me to we definitely need to do this again sometime"

After he left I walked inside to find that parents had already gone to sleep, wanting to do the same I headed to my room only to be greeted with a facetime call from Nick and Dwayne.

"Hey!" they both yelled excitedly, "how have you been? How's the Cali life treating you?"

"I'm good, honestly I'm kind of liking California more than I expected. How are you guys?"

"We're good missing you like crazy actually. One of us more than the other." Nick saying that me do a double take, and as I was about to ask what he meant when all of a sudden said he had to go so that left me talking to Dwayne.

"D what did Nick mean by that?"

"I have no idea, honestly he's just being stupid. So are excited only one more week till your back."

"Definitely, no matter how much I grow to love California, texas and the academy will always be home." Honestly speaking I hadn't even thought about going back to the academy with classes, and Noah asking me out of my mind for once hadn't even been on training and Dwayne bring it up made me realize how out of shape I was.

"Hey, where'd you go!" D yelled at me as I had started to daze of realizing how much work I needed to put in if I was going to go back to the academy and reclaim my number one spot this summer.

"Sorry, I guess I'm just tired and started dozing off."

"Why are you so tired? What'd you do today"

"Nothing really, my friend Veronica came over and helped me get ready for my date..." I stopped talking as soon as I realized the look on his face and suddenly what Nick had said made since and I realized that the feelings I had for Dwaine back in the day were not only one sided. And suddenly I couldn't wait till was back in Texas and suddenly I felt terrible about going on a date with Noah.

"Oh um.... How'd it go?" He asked trying to hide the jealousy or maybe it was anger that came with asking the question, either way as I was about to answer Nick came in and called him for there 4pm training which was held right before dinner was served in the hall. We said goodbye to each other and as I laid down in my bed I smiled to myself as I thought about all that would come within the next few weeks.
