The Next Year.
AJ's POV
"This is a new flavour. That's what it is."
"AJ that looks like mud and slime!" Mrs. Quinton covered her mouth. Yes I was back in the bakery doing my favourite thing.
"I'll try it! I've eaten worse." Mr. Bernard came in and took my creation in his hands. He peeled off the cupcake lining before taking a huge bite out of the cupcake.
"Youno itfmgrr.Ely." His wife smacked his arm and told him to swallow first.
"AJ that was........awesome!" I squealed and high fived him.
"Alright, alright I'll eat the weird thing." Winnie the Pooh scoffed and took a tiny bite.
"It's good right? It has to be. Say something. Why are you so quiet? I thought it was good. Mr. Bernard thought it was good. Why are you making that face? Is there something wrong with it?"
"AJ!! Dear Lord!" Winnie the Pooh glared at me. "Give me a second to taste it properly young lady."
"Oh. So is it okay?"
"Actually it tastes really good. That pinch of sour really blends with the sweet, rich chocolate. The vanilla topping is perfect too. It was the weird slime thing which made me think twice."
"The weird slime thing is the one blowing away your taste buds. More respect to the slime thing." I retorted.
"Why are you calling it slime? What is it actually?"
"A bunch of things I can't recall right now. But I will. Now the important thing is, this cupcake tastes good." Thank goodness I wrote down the ingredients for the dark red liquid that was poured over the cupcake. I looked over to the other sour, chocolate cupcake which was untouched. I carefully placed it on a small piece of baking paper. Like a precious gem, I didn't want anything to happen to it.
"AJ." Winnie the Pooh drawled. I hated it when she gets like this. She already knew something was up. Like always.
"It's for someone okay." I told her quickly and looked for the black cupcake box I had ordered. This needed to look really pretty.
"Oohhh, AaaaaaaJaayyy." She drawled again, preventing me from doing the most important job for the day.
"If I tell you, would you please leave me alone?"
"Yes!" I groaned at her.
"It's for him." I mumbled under my breath. Her whole face brightened up at once. "This is important okay. I want it to be.....perfect."
"Oh my sweet AJ-" She was interupted by the doorbell.
"Shit! Is that?"
"Don't worry I'll distract the boy. You finish up." I gave her a thumbs up.
I carefully placed my greatest invention yet inside the black box. We were going out for ice cream today because Rylen lost a bet to me and now he owes me ice cream. Limitless amount of ice cream. I took the box and slowly let it rest at the bottom of my bag. I made sure it laid flat and undisturbed.
"Why are you acting weird?" Rylen raised a brow at Winnie the Pooh.
"Weird? Me? Why? What did I do?" She wasn't good at this. She needed to stop. Immediately.
