Charlie's pov
I was out on a date with Annabelle, my girlfriend. It seemed to never end, once it finally did I got up to leave but her arm pulled me back, "what?" I asked impatiently. All I wanted to do was go back home and see Alex, "can I come over to your place again?" she asked, her eyes went big to try and convince me but they didn't compare to Alex's. "What about Alex, I'm sure he'd like to spend some time with me," I said, I just wanted to cuddle up with him and watch movies all night long but she shrugged, "kick him out for the night, it's not like you two are close or anything."

Her words infuriated me, "how could I just kick him out! It's his apartment at the end of the day!" I shouted, I could just rip her head off I was so angry. Her eyes practically went red with anger, "why do you care about him so much! You only kissed him at that party so you could get Jackson's money!" she shouted at me.

How could I have been so stupid, if I don't let her come then she will start getting suspicious. I sighed in defeat, "fine, but I'm not kicking him out," I replied sternly. She nodded a little as her hand slipped down into my hand, I wanted to break it off with her but if they found out it was more than just a bet everyone would laugh at me, besides I'm not gay.

It wasn't a long walk back to the flat but once we arrived the door was wide open and I heard glass smashing loudly. I let go of Annabelle's hand and ran towards the door, slamming it shut behind me. My eyes scanned the room for Alex but I couldn't find him. Everything went quiet for a moment. I looked over to the kitchen to see a random scruffy stranger standing over a body, it was Alex's body. I quickly made a move and punched the man in the face, immediately knocking him out, I then bent down next to Alex, holding his bleeding hand up to my lips, his closed eyes opened a little and he smiled weakly before closing his eyes once again.

"ALEX! Don't close your eyes, please, Alex, Alex please!" I begged and begged but nothing happened. Tears rolled uncontrollably down my cheeks but I didn't leave where I was, "please..." I asked pathetically one last time. I then looked up, Annabelle saw the whole thing, she had her hand over her mouth, "call an ambulance for gods sake!" I shouted at her angrily, how could someone be so stupid. She quickly whipped out her phone and dialled 999, her long extravagant finger nails tapped the screen.

The ambulance arrived fast and took Alex and the man in the back, "let's go then," I said eagerly to Annabelle, she just looked at me confused, "go where?" she asked. I rolled my eyes and rubbed my face with my hand, smearing some of the blood from Alex's body, "to the hospital, are you really THAT stupid?" I replied, she just rolled her eyes and went to the car slowly whilst I practically ran. I waited in the car for her but she was taking too long, I decided to pomp the horn which made her scoff and she speeded up a little, she could barely walk in her tall heels.

Once she got in I started to drive, I knew I was driving over the speed limit but I had to see him. My head was spinning and my mouth became dry, "why do you care so much about him anyway?" Annabelle asked. Her french accent was soft but this time it started to sound stern, I just shook my head, "I just care about him," I replied. I knew it wasn't the full truth, I fucking love him that's why. That's the moment it hit me, I love him, tears filled my eyes as I drove making it hard to see but not long after we arrived at the hospital.

"Wait here," I told Annabelle, I really couldn't deal with her at the minuet, she just nodded and sat back childishly as she crossed her arms and pouted. I rolled my eyes and began running to the hospital entrance, please be alive, is all I could think and then I began running faster and faster. The sharp wind hit my face, making it sore and red but I didn't care I just had to see him. I soared into the reception and went straight to the front desk, my hands hitting the desk hard to make me stop. The receptionist looked at me confused but worried.

"Where's Alex? Alex Smith? Where is he?" I asked nervously and fast, wiping the sweat off my red face. She tapped her computer and her eyes scanned it, after what seemed like an eternity of tapping my fingers in the front desk she looked back up at me blankly, "he's is emergency surgery." My heart began to race, my hands began to sweat and I stumbled back a little, the walls seemed to become smaller and smaller, slowly closing in to suffocate me. "He should be out soon, why don't you wait over there for him and the doctor should be out shortly, I'll let him know you're here," the receptionist said as she guided me to the waiting room and made me settle on the uncomfortable plastic seats.

Handfuls of my hair was in my hands, pulling at my scalp a little, but it didn't hurt. Suddenly, my phone rang making me jump, I looked down at the contact. It was Annabelle, of course it was. I rolled my eyes but answered, I didn't say anything until I heard her starting to shout, "where the fuck are you?! Shouldn't you be out by now!!" she screamed down the phone, I rolled my eyes and opened my mouth to speak but she carried on, this bitch never shuts up. "He's in emergency surgery for God's sake, I'm waiting for him, just take the car and go home!!" I interrupted her, I heard a large sigh coming from the other line and then the engine starting, "fine. I'll see you on Monday," before I could decline her offer she hung up the phone. "Is there anyone here for Alex Smith?" a tall doctor asked.
