My eyes shot open when I heard a knocking on the door. "Coming," I said as I got out of the bed and stumbled over to the bedroom door.

"Morning sweetie," Maggie smiled, "so a bunch of your stuff is laying on our porch outside. I don't have a problem with you staying here, but do you want to tell me what's been going on?"

"Um, is Billie home?" I mumbled, rubbing the sleep out of my eyes.

"No, she has a bunch of work today. Why don't you come eat something and we can talk?"

"Sure," I nodded. I walked past the front door, peaking onto the porch, Every single one of my items was laying there. I stared for a moment with shaky hands. I can't believe my parents would do something like this.

As I stared at my belongings I felt Maggie's hand on my shoulder and she led me into the kitchen. I sat down on the bench and stared at the table as she put a plate of food in front of me. She sat down across from me and I decided I should just tell her.

"So, I'm gay," I sighed, "I told my parents and my dad slapped me before he kicked me out. The other day he asked me if I had changed my mind, obviously, I haven't. He wanted all my stuff out of the house but I couldn't do it. I guess that explains why all my stuff is trashing your porch."

"I'm sorry. I'll move it all today and I'll try to find another place to stay."

"Millie, you have nothing to be sorry for, and you can stay here as long as you need," She reached her hand over the table, placing it on top of mine, "I've known you for so long that you feel like one of my own kids Millie."

"Yeah, this house has always felt more like home than the house down the street," I looked up at her.

"I hope you know that you can talk to me as if I am your mom. I will always be here for you and support you."

"Thank you," I smiled with a tear rolling down my cheek. I stood up and pulled her into a hug.

After endless hours with Maggie and Patrick's help, finally, all my things had been gone through. I decided to throw away most of my old clothes and things that made me think of my parents. The rest of my things I packed into an old suitcase I had and threw it into Billie's closet, too tired to do anything else with it. It was hard to keep the tears from falling when I saw old photos or stuffed animals.

"No, Finneas, I'm not joking," I said seriously.

"You really go to school to learn how to do eyeliner on different eye shapes?" He laughed.

"Babe stop," Claudia smacked his arm, "Eyeliner is fucking hard. You could never," Claudia challenged him.

"Okay true, I surrender," He held up his arms.

"When is Billie supposed to be home?" I asked Maggie from across the dinner table.

"Probably around 9 pm," she answered.

"Damn, that's a long day," I frowned.

I told Finneas and Claudia everything that had happened, except the part about me and Billie. They have been a really good distraction this evening. After dinner, we played some games and now that it's almost Nine, they decided to head home for the night.

I pulled out my laptop, plopping myself on Billie's bed and planning videos for the next couple of weeks. I haven't been very creative the past few videos so I need to get on that. I searched Pinterest for some inspiration and came up with a few good video ideas. As I was aimlessly scrolling through social media, my eyelids began to get heavy and I felt myself drift into a state of nothingness.

I didn't know how long it had been until I felt Billie's arms wrap around me. Unfortunately, it wasn't her regular warm vanilla scent, I knew exactly where she came from by her smell.

"You smell like sex," I whispered.

"I-sorry," she mumbled, moving away from me.

I sat up and reached for my phone seeing that it was 1 am. I placed my phone back down and looked at Billie. I know we arent exclusive, we haven't even had sex yet; but part of me wished she had changed. She told me she liked me...why would she go sleep with someone else?

"Do you wish I would have had sex with you yesterday?" I mumbled, picking at my nails.

"What? No," She sat up, "I mean yes but I'll wait however long you need."

"Going to hookup with someone else isn't really waiting..." I trailed off.

"I'm sorry?" She apologized in more or a question.

"No, you don't need to be sorry," I sighed, "My dad dropped off all my shit at your doorstep today."

"What? What happened"

"It was a really fuckin emotionally draining day, so I'm going back to sleep," I muttered before laying back down.

"I'm really sorry M," I heard Billie say in a genuine voice. I watched as she grabbed a towel off the back of her door and walk out of the room.
