A/N: GRAB SOME POPCORN FOLKS THIS ONE IS GONNA BE DELICIOUS

***

When y/n heard the sound of yelling outside the common room, she figured dementors or something had broken into the castle, that's how bad it was. There were only a few students in the common room along with her, both of whom looked up at the commotion outside.

"What the hell is going on out there?" said one of the students, a girl in her second year.

"I'm gonna go check it out," y/n decided. She set down her Charms textbook which she had been studying and made her way out of the portrait hole.

The hallways were empty, with no sign of anyone in sight. But the clamor bounced off the walls, the sound of yelling voices and shrieking.

Y/n followed the sound to the Great Hall, throwing open the doors and revealing a sight like no other.

A large group of students was gathered in a circle near the entrance to the Hall. Many were throwing punches at each other, many were yelling insults and personal remarks at each other. Crude gestures and arguments were thrown around carelessly by those in both Gryffindor and Slytherin robes.

Y/n pushed through the throng of students and the teachers yelling to break it up and caught a glimpse of who was fighting in the center of the group.

Sirius and Regulus were shoving each other, throwing punches, and looking as if they were ready to kill each other.

Y/n cursed under her breath and squeezed by the raging students toward the center of the circle.

"Stop!" she shouted uselessly.

Sirius said something unintelligible to his brother and swung at his face, smashing Regulus's jaw and breaking the skin of his lip. Sirius himself had a blossoming bruise under his right eye.

"For the love of Godric, stop!" She got in between the boys and pushed them away from each other. At the firmness in her voice, they halted and stared at her dubiously. Both boys were panting, and Sirius had a hand on his wand, ready to bring the fight to the next level.

Gryffindors and Slytherins raged on around them, but the teachers were handling that situation.

"What the hell is going on?" said y/n, exasperated.

Neither of the boys said anything, just glared at each other from a distance, safe from each other because of y/n's intervention. Neither of them would dare lay a hand on her.

In fact, it was her they were fighting over.

A professor hurried over and began squabbling over Regulus and Sirius, reprimanding them to Azkaban and back over their immaturity and irresponsibility and lack of respect for the Hogwarts code of honor, etc. etc.

Y/n made her way over to Sirius first. "Are you okay?"

Sirius put a hand to the bruise under his eye and winced. "I'm fine."

"What the hell happened between you two?"

Sirius's gaze cut to hers and he spat, "I told you Slytherins couldn't be trusted."

He stormed out of the Hall toward Godric knows where. The other Mauraders were nowhere to be seen.

Regulus was ignoring the teacher who was scolding him, only paying attention to y/n. She made her way over to him, assuring the teacher that she would bring him to the hospital wing and take care of things from there. The teacher thanked her and rushed to help the others dealing with the numerous other brawls.
