The fallen

As the air rushes past me all I can think of is that I’m falling, falling to my demise. The ground comes closer and closer, Selene trying her hardest to catch me, but shes not fast enough.

I close my eyes and accept my fate, will I go to hell, or heaven, who really cares. Right before I hit the ground I feel something ball up inside me, and I begin to cry, I scream.

“I don’t want to DIE!” Suddenly I’m flying again, I grip the arms tightly making sure I don’t fall again. I hear an unfamiliar voice from my savior.

“Hey kid stop squeezing so hard,man up it’s not like you were about to die right?” I turn to see a girl I’ve never seen before, black hair, black wings? She lands and I let go, she gives me a devilish grin as she stares at my petrified self.

“So that dumb angel dropped you huh?” I nod. Was she watching the whole thing?

“Who are you?” I say weakly breathing heavy from my literal near death experience. She looks at me and laughs and looks at me like ‘You don’t know?’.

“I’m Rebecca, I’m a fallen angel.” She smiles and extends her hand for a handshake, I take it and shake. She steps back and smiles.”So whats a cutie like you falling from the sky this late at night?’ she says with a giggle. I take a breath and try to speak, when I see Selene flying angrily this way.

“uhm” She turns and sees what I saw and she ducks, Selene didn’t stop when she missed Rebecca, she slams into me throwing me onto my back. All I hear is her saying,

“I’m sorry, I’m sorry, I’m sorry.” I feel her crying because my chest feels wet. I place my hand on her head and try to calm her down. Rebecca giggles,

“What an angel she is, guess thats why they sent her to watch over this dumb town.” Selene hears the remark and stands and swings at her, but Rebecca catches her hand and throws her to the ground and giggles, “Slow down butter cup." she brings her face down near hers, she strokes her cheek with her fingers. "Why Are you getting all worked up over little ol me?" Selene stands and tries to hit her again. "Will you ever learn?" Rebecca brings her fist down on Selene and Selene goes down. What am I suppose to do? I’m only a human,I can’t stop 2 angels from fighting, I ponder for a moment as my two new feather brained companions duke it out. I can’t concentrate with them doing it. Rebecca throws Selene into the wall beside me, it seems as though Selene might not last much longer.

“give up it’ll be easier.” Rebecca says this as she cracks her knuckles as she walks towards her, I block her from her.

“stop this right now!” Did I really just tell something that threw someone through a wall to STOP? She looks at me confused and crosses her arms.

“Tell her that she started it.” she puffs her cheeks out cutely like a child would to their parents. I heard moaning behind me and I turn and look, Selene is standing up, but I didn’t know that angels could bleed.

“I’m not done with you….” Selene seems exhausted,I walk up to her but she falls over and I catch her.

“You’re heavier than you look” I grunt as I hoist her onto my back, Rebecca is still standing there.

“she going to be alright?” She asks, I’m surprised she asked me that after she nearly killed her.

“I guess maybe she’ll be ok, she’s an angel so I think she’ll pull through.”

She shakes her head, “She not a full angel” wait…..WHAT!

“What do you mean? She isn’t a full angel?”

She thinks for a moment,maybe trying to say it in a way I’d understand.

“Well you see she half a angel, her mother was impregnated by a high ranking angel.” She points to her blood, “You can tell because Angels cannot bleed.” Slowly taking this in was still hard to believe, that the angel no the girl I've had a crush on since I first saw her was half human?

"So dose she know?" She shakes her head.

"If she knew then she wouldn't be such a brat don't you think?" I think about this for a moment, remember what she said in the bathroom, how she bad talked humans when she really as a human as well. Rebecca walks up to me slowly and kisses me on my cheek, my cheeks grow hot from this, I nearly yelped out of pure shock. She giggles and flys up.

"See you around" she devilishly winks at me, "stay out of trouble now." She began to fly away and I'm left alone with Selene unconscious in my arms. Making sure I had a good grip on her I began to walk home, thus ends that strange adventure. I lay Selene on my bed and cover her up.

"Guess I'm sleeping on the couch," I grab a spare blanket from my closest and make my way down stairs to the living room. I think to myself as I close my eyes, what else is out there, if I'm wrong that God is actually real what else is real? Ghosts? Aliens? ZOMBIES! No maybe not zombies....I slip fast asleep ready for the next day
