We had moved in right before Christmas of last year and it was April. We were a month out from the wedding and the house was completely decorated and furnished. I was hosting a housewarming only at my husband's urging. I did not want all those people in my new home. I had enough lunches, luncheons, brunches and whatever else you wanna call eating with a bunch of fake friends. I did not want all that bad energy in the house.
"Did you invite the mayor?" Victor asked as I brushed my teeth. I rolled my eyes. I didn't wanna do this but here I was. I was exhausted. I was going to sleep the first 24 Hours of our honeymoon.
"Yes. I got the basement all ready for your mother and sisters. The caterers will be here at 3 and we got everything roped off." I said as lazy as possible.
"Don't drag your words like that, you sound real old." Victor said speed walking into his closet. I dropped the girls at their new private school, thank God it was like 10 minutes from our new home. I was tired. I didn't even do any make up, just designer glasses and workout clothing. I was meeting with my trainer after this.
An hour later I was full on sweating and being pushed to my limits, I wanted to look good for my wedding. I was trying to get my six pack back, but my stomach was like nah girl, 4 babies, we good, you're lucky we stayed flat. I cooled down on a stationary bike and I watched as two girls stared at me as if they were going to do something to me. I am more worried about being robbed as opposed to them hitting me. My alarm went off and I practically ran to the showers. Nope, I didn't wanna put in extra for a better result, thank you, I'm done. I headed for the showers. I was going to use it to rinse the sweat off and that's it. This was not a place for contemplation. My rainfall shower was well worth the cash and this drip drop shower head couldn't compare.
I put on my clothing and the girls that were staring were in the locker room. That's one thing I learned in being friends with Romanda, no need in being afraid. You can be cautious, but never be afraid of the next heffa.
"What's the problem ladies? Victor fucked you and now you mad that he's not returning your calls, and you think that telling me about it is going to make me leave, and then you and him will be together?" I asked them. They were no older than 22 and they thought they had met their dream man, not knowing his ass is a nightmare. But I'm serious. I was getting down this aisle. I had fought to be here, and if he ever did split, he was going to pay me. Some broke down heffa wasn't going to deter our damn near $500,000 wedding. The young angry heffas stared at me bewildered before they started shouting. They were calling me a bitch and ho, and didn't even know my real name, they just saw my face and ring. They probably didn't know his real name. I walked right past the poor lost souls. I waited for my car in valet. I hopped in and I met Romanda for lunch.
Her show was taking off and today I was joining her in her office. She wanted to show me how the dress fit. My bridesmaids were wearing peach champagne. Despite being so busy she had the week off of the wedding and she had invited the girls to the office for lunch. She was very much apart of this wedding. When I arrived at the offices she had her nieces and daughters all performing Steve Arrington's "Weak at the Knees". They were incredibly talented they were playing the instruments and each one could sing. I was impressed and so was the entire office, it was a very party like atmosphere. Her show was taking off and we were excited. I couldn't help but let the bass line take me and I swayed my body to the beat as I headed for the elevator. The boardroom had a clear view to the lobby where they were singing. I couldn't believe they knew the songs they were playing, I mean word for word.
I was laughing as I entered my friends office. She was standing in her silk peach gown. I thought just a plain silk gown was going to be boring, but it looked good on her and my sister's skin, yep it was just the two of them. I had been married before, besides I had 400 guest.
