I quickly ran through the crowded corridor to get to my dorm. I have to change before heading to quidditch practice. As the new captain I have to arrive 15 minutes prior to set up drill plans and get the chest of game balls onto the field. (I know I didn't really mention quidditch at all in the last story but it's going to be a part of this one!) I ran into my dorm and threw my robes onto my bed changing into sweatpants and a t shirt. I grabbed my quidditch bag and headed out throwing my hair into a pony tail as I ran out the door."Alright! Everyone gather around. The hufflepuff quidditch team has been known as the weakest links for a while now but we're getting rid of that. We're going to work hard and we're going to work like a team. Alright everyone pair up!"
Once everyone stood in pairs I rearranged every single pair.
"There will no longer be cliques within our team. Every pair grab a quaffle and toss it back and forth we'll do this to warm up and I don't want silent focus. Talk. Get to know each other."
After practice I went into the captains shed and put everything away before sitting down at the desk. I grabbed out my notebook to see if there was anything from George. I hadn't heard from him today which was unusual. He always wrote a message every morning before opening the joke shop. I closed the notebook and put my head in my hands. I closed my eyes and tried not to worry. I missed seeing him every day, falling asleep in each others dorms, sneaking off and talking in empty corridors. I missed it all.
"Alright there captain?"
My head shot up to the sound of the familiar voice as a smile spread on my face.
"George!" I shot up from my chair and ran to him practically jumping into his arms. "How did you get here?"
"I know the headmaster remember?"
"How did you convince Dumbledore?"
"It didn't take much, I asked, he said yes."
"That's it?"
"Pretty much."
I shook my head at him and he placed his hand lightly on the side of my face before tilting it upwards and kissing me lightly.
"I missed you," I buried my head into his chest breathing in the comforting sent of cranberries and fireworks.
"I missed you too Darling."
We had laid in the middle of the quidditch pitch for hours talking and laughing. He pulled me close to him and I put my head on his chest allowing my eyes to close and my breathing to slow. Ever since I had gotten back to Hogwarts I was constantly moving and once I would finally be in my dorm it was onto homework and quidditch schedules. It was never ending. I was using it to distract myself, I hadn't even realized how little I was seeing my friends. I saw them during classes but that was it. I spent meal times in my dorm or in the quidditch office. I filled my schedule to avoid thinking about how much I was missing George.
George's POV:
I had stopped talking for a second to glance down at Emily realizing she had fallen asleep. I missed this. Her. I thought about her every second. I brushed her hair out of her face and she started mumbling.
"George... George," she was still asleep. I smirked knowing she was dreaming about me. I hadn't heard her mumble in her sleep before.
Emily's POV
"George! George!" I yelled as he walked away. He didn't turn back to look at me. He just kept walking forward. Leaving me behind.
I woke up in my dorm and glanced at my clock, it was only three. I turned over to see George sleeping next to me. He hadn't left. It was only a dream. He must've brought me up to my dorm. I hadn't slept good in weeks so it made sense why I didn't wake up. I moved closer to him and moved his arm to wrap around me. He pulled me closer in his sleep. I was happy he was here but I knew he would have to leave in a few hours. I couldn't go back to sleep I had to enjoy the fact that he was here now. I reached for my book off of my nightstand and my wand.
"Lumos," I whispered creating a light bright enough I could see the words but not bright enough to wake George.
"Emily?" I turned over to see George waking up. I looked at the clock and realized three hours had passed. I went back and forth between reading and thinking.
"Hi," I said turning back to him.
"Why are you awake?"
"Couldn't sleep."
He looked at me concerned and placed a hand on the side of my face. He kissed my forehead and my nose before placing a final kiss on my lips.
"I missed this, waking up with you," I said looking away from him.
"Me too, I miss this every single second," he placed a finger under my chin and tilted my head back up to look at him.
I half smiled knowing he had to get to the joke shop.
We got up and I changed into my robes. I walked into the bathroom and splashed water on my face trying not to cry. I felt a set of arms wrap around my waist gently.
"I will be back soon my love," he said.
"Not soon enough," I responded my voice cracking.
"I love you, Mrs Weasley."
"I love you too Mr Weasley."
And with that he apparated out of my dorm leaving me alone.
