I woke up the next morning surprised to see George still next to me. I kissed his jaw and ran my fingers lightly along his chest. He stirred and a smile formed on his face. He grabbed my hips and pulled me on top of him.
"Good morning darling," he said placing his hand on the side of my face.
I kissed him again.
"You're late," I said.
"What am I late for?"
"Work," I kissed him again and moved down his jaw.
"I am all yours today."
"You are?"
"Fred agreed to man the shop."
"I get you all day? What should we do?"
"I have a few ideas," he kissed me and put his hands on my hips pulling me down onto him.
"We should have lunch with Ron."
"I'd really rather not talk about my brother when we're about to have sex."
"George I'm serious."
"So am I."
"Ok ok fine but hurry up we need to make plans for the day."
"I am insulted. You did not just tell me to hurry up," he laughed.
"I'm sorry, I'm just so happy. I've missed you so much and there's only so many things we can fit into 24 hours."
"Emily, Emily, shut up."
I looked at him and my jaw dropped. I laughed and kissed him again. He flipped us over, so he was on top of me. He dragged his fingers along my arm and then played with the hem of my underwear. Then, my door creaked open, and George jumped covering us both.
"Hey Emily, I'm sorry I got mad at you it's just- OH GOD," Ron had walked in and suddenly slapped his hands over his eyes.
"Hi Ron, I was just thinking, we should have lunch together today. The three of us. We'll meet you in the great hall at noon?"
"Yeah sure fine," he guided himself out of the room and closed the door.
"Now where were we?" George asked turning my face back towards him.
I smiled and leaned down to kiss him.
I collapsed down next to George breathing heavily.
"Wow."
"I need to take days off from the shop more often."
"I agree, I miss you so much when you're not here."
"I miss you too."
After laying in silence for a few minutes we decided to get ready for the day and walk the grounds. I threw on a coat and hat since it was starting to get colder outside.
"I've picked up so much I barely have a spare moment. Let alone time to sleep. I feel like I need to fill up every moment so I spend less time missing you."
"You should take a break. Come stay with me for a few days."
"I can't do that, between classes and quidditch and Madame Pomfery. I have too many people counting on me right now."
"Well what if I'm counting on you too?"
"George, you know I would love to stay with you but I can't. Not now."
"What about over Christmas?"
"Well, we'll see. It's just Christmas is the best time to harvest shrivelfig and Madame Pomfery is quite low-"
"Harvest it before and come see me."
"I just don't know if I can."
"Do you not want to stay with me?"
"Oh come on you know it's not like that."
"Then what is it like Emily?"
"I have so many responsibilities George."
"And our relationship isn't one of them?"
"George...," I felt tears prick my eyes. I was trying so hard to balance everything going on in my life and he was not making this easier. I had a life to plan. I had our life to plan and I can't be prepared if I'm running off just because I want to.
"We need to go. We don't want to be late," he walked towards the castle letting go of my hand. I had completely forgotten about our lunch plans with Ron. Maybe I was becoming a bad friend.
We sat down a large space between us. George wouldn't even look at me and I was too afraid to talk. I looked up at Ron and forced a smile. He looked between us concerned.
"Is everything ok?" Ron asked.
"Yeah fine. You know, I'm just going to walk for a while. I'll meet you back in your dorm later," George got up and left without making eye contact.
"What was that about?"
"Ron, I need you to be honest with me. Have I been a bad friend recently?"
"You've been... busy. You're doing so much that you don't have time to spend with me anymore."
"I'm sorry, I didn't mean to. I'm going to make time starting now I promise."
Ron nodded and smiled. I could see he didn't believe me so I would just have to prove it to him. We talked about everything under the sun laughing so much that I forgot about what was waiting for me.
I walked up to my dorm to see George sitting on the edge of my bed staring at the floor. I stood in front of him and he didn't even budge.
"I'm going to drop divinations. It's not like I need it anyways. I'm going to talk to Professor Sprout and get everything harvested by Christmas break. But I think we should stay with my Grandma then we can see your parents on Christmas as well."
He looked up at me and grabbed my hand so I sat next to him. He placed his hand on the side of my face and kissed me softly.
"I knew you were still in there, Mrs Weasley."
