When she finally got to the tower, there was already a guard welcoming the owl. Curiosity got the best of her that she stomped down her shyness to pursue her object of desire. She faked a cough to announce her presence.

"Milady Rapunzel!" The brown-haired guard immediately bowed in respect. "What brings you to this place, your highness?"

"Umm... I was at the library just a moment ago when I saw a white owl flying this way," she explained shortly, hoping that the guard figured her point in coming there, without her saying much.

Thankfully, the kind-looking guard was clever enough to get the hint. "Oh, would you like to meet this guy?" he asked as he moved to the right, showing the pearly white owl who was munching a treat. Her eyes literally sparkled as she spotted the adorable creature.

"Can I... umm, pet it? Am I allowed to? Or will it get annoyed when I did?" She realized too late that she had asked too fast, making the guard looked confused. A wave of embarrassment fell over, as a memory of her maid reprimanding her about this bad habit of hers resurfaced. Suddenly the floor seemed to be more interesting than the owl as she muttered an apology.

"It's fine, Your Highness." The guard extended his arm toward the owl and Rapunzel watched in atonishment how the owl gracefully land its talons on said arm. "Just be careful not to be too aggressive."

Rapunzel nodded then started moving her hand up and down softly on its wings. The owl was hesitant at first, but quickly accustomed to her delicate touch. It even flew to Rapunzel's shoulder then nuzzled its head to the Princess' golden locks, which almost made Rapunzel faint in happiness. While she was busy playing with her new friend, the guard inspected the scroll that was brought by the owl.

"Who would've known that this guy had brought such an important letter. This scroll was addressed for His Highness, Prince Hans. It's from–"

"–Amaris, right?" Rapunzel casually guessed, eyes never leaving the owl.

"Wow, your Highness. I see that someone spent an overtime at the library," the guard teased. Impressed that the young Princess could guess where the owl came from.

Rapunzel giggled. "I do have many free times in my grasps." She now just noticed how blue the eyes of the owl were and how sleepy he seemed. Poor guy must have had a long journey without a blink of sleep for days.

"That's nice." The guard secured the scroll inside his cloak, then whistled the owl to come back to him. He opened a bronze door of one huge cage which kept many of the royal's owls then let the foreign owl flew in, before locking it back. "We'll let him stay here with our owls as we wait for His Highness' response. Do you want to come as well, Your Highness?"

Rapunzel shook her head. "I would only be a nuisance if I bother my older brother with my presence, I'm just going to head back to my chamber, it's almost dark anyways. I bid you good night, sir guard." She nodded her head to the man, flew the snowy owl a kiss goodbye then made her way out of the tower. Although the guard didn't say it, he believed the Princess wasn't any sort of nuisance to anyone. As far as he knew, Rapunzel was briliant from what she had learn from her tutors and variety of books she had read. Sure, she was naive and seemed out of touch from the outside world, but that was just because no one had given her a chance to prove herself and hadn't showed her what was going on in the first place. And the reason for that was because everyone believed there was no need for her to.
