First POV
I was drenched in sweat as let myself fall on the ground trying to catch my breath. In front of me, looking immaculate, was Shisui. I couldn't remember the last time we had trained like this. He was usually busy with his team and me with mine.
"You're slow," he said eyeing me a bit nervous. "Are you not practicing taijutsu and kenjutsu as much as you should be?"
I could tell that my cousin was becoming frustrated due to how bad I did today in training. It was true, with Kakashi sensei we were practicing ninjutsu, mostly because Naruto and Sasuke had massive amounts of chakra. I didn't really mind training only in ninjutsu as I took it as an advantage to improve my chakra control and get my body used to using more amounts of chakra.
"No, I haven't been doing that in the past month," I said a bit ashamed. Ever since Sasuke's birthday, Shisui has been more serious around me, I did betray his trust after all. "You seem a lot faster than before." He probably was the fastest in the Land of Fire.
"It doesn't matter how fast I am, you should be able to get to my level without using chakra. Taijutsu would enable you to do that, so why aren't you focused on that?"
"I thought I should start using chakra more..."
"You don't need ninjutsu the way you are now!" He snapped at me. "I know how much you are studying it, hell I know you aren't studying only ninjutsu, but other things too, and some are dangerous, and not important right now."
I was a bit taken aback because he was almost yelling at me, but I quickly gained my composure as I got up from the ground.
"But Shisui, I am also learning taijutsu and kenjutsu techniques."
"Learning is not the same as practicing, I am sure you have a lot of knowledge on almost every single form of jutsu in this world, but until we find a way to fix your heart you should stick to those two, understand?" he asked me harshly and I could only nod. He was right, I knew enough stuff already. "Ok, we can start again, I will go slower this time," Shisui sighed as he got in position.
I quickly got in a defensive position reaching with my right arm the holder of my katana as fast as I could to take it out if I would be needing it. I saw Shisui past me on my right side preparing his fist to hit me. I managed to block it with my left hand as I rotated my body in his direction kicking my feet off the ground and using his fist as a lever. He blocked my attack throwing me to the ground.
I opened my hands to make contact with the ground to stop my fall. The moment I felt the grass touch my fingers I saw Shisui's leg coming at an insane speed to kick my arms. It was inevitable at this point since I wouldn't be able to dodge in time. I closed my eyes waiting to feel the impact but nothing came.
"Problems on paradise? I've never seen you two so worked up."
I opened my eyes to see Kakashi sensei between us, blocking Shisui's leg while holding mine suspended in the air. Behind him, I saw a confused Naruto and a somewhat angry Sasuke. Shisui withdrew his attach while Kakashi sensei looked at me once more before letting go of my leg and inevitably making me fall on the ground.
"We weren't worked up, I just wanted to see how Chise was doing in taijutsu," Shisui said giving me a knowing look.
"I see," the silvered-haired man started. "Well if you don't mind Shisui, I have to take Chise-chan and go with my team to meet the Hokage, he wants to give us some more missions, I am sure your team also has some missions for today."
"Yes, we do have a few," he answered as he turned around to leave. "Chise, don't forget what I said," Shisui finished as he Body Flickered away.
I didn't like the mood in which he took off, I will apologize to him tonight at dinner, he was right.
