I began running home, smiling as 'golden' by Harry styles began blasting my ears, I really just wanted to dance to the song but I knew I couldn't because, well I am in Public and there are heaps of people around. And plus I could not dance for the life of me I usually look like a bird that got run over by a car.
I was running along the path when I noticed a little girl, maybe 3 years old walking out on the road. No one seemed to notice and no one was with the girl so I made a split second decision to run and pull the girl off the middle of the road as a car went by. The car beeped his horn loud as he drove past but I wasn't worried about that.
I pulled her onto the sidewalk my heart racing a million beats a second. The girl looked over at me and she was crying silently. "No, no you're okay. Where's your parents?" I asked hoping she would reply.
"I don't know" she stuttered. I picked the girl up, pulling her into my arms. "Where did you come from?" I pushed the girls hair out of her face and wiped her tears. I've always loved babies, especially girls, they are just so adorable.
I noticed the little girl had blue eyes and beautiful short blonde hair. She didn't reply so I asked another question as we walked slowly away from my house. "What's your name?" I asked hoping she would reply.
"Daisy" she said cutely as we walked the opposite way I was running. She even had a gorgeous name. "Really, that's an adorable name my name is Hannah" the girl smiled as we walked. I decided to ask around.
"Hi, um excuse me?" I walked up to a lady who looked mid age. "Yes?" The lady asked politely looking over at me and then at Daisy. "This little girl almost got run over and her parents don't seem to be anywhere, have you seen her around with them or maybe know her by any chance" I asked hopefully.
"No, I'm sorry I don't know, but I hope you find her parents" she smiled walking away. I stood there bummed not knowing what to do with this poor girl.
"Hey Daisy, do you know what your parents looked like?" I sat her down on a bench and sat next to her as we both looked out to the ocean.
"Mommy left me here" was all she said. I turned around and faced her astonished. "Where did she go?" I asked curiously. "Car" Daisy Pointed to all of the of the cars parked.
I was starting to realise that the mom left Daisy here on purpose. I didn't know what to do and I didn't really want to get my mom involved as best I could so I picked her up again and walked back into the surf shop. I put Daisy back on the ground and held her hand as we walked in.
Archie turned around as the bell rang and looked at me. "Miss me already?" He smirked before looking down at the small girl. "Who's this" he smiled and waved at Daisy.
"I don't know" I said shakily because what mother would abandon there baby by choice, I know if I had a daughter as precious as this little girl I would never let her go. Archie looked at me confused and didn't say anything.
"She was going to get run over but I grabbed her, she said her mom left her here. I don't know what to do" Daisy then started crying again so I picked her up and tried to get her to be quiet. "Do you miss your mommy?" I asked her silently.
"No, she's hurts me" both Archie and I looked at each other weirdly. "What do you mean your mommy hurts you?" Archie asked. I set Daisy down on the counter. "My tummy hurts" was all she said. I lifted her pink top up slightly and saw three big, purple bruises on them. I put my hand over my mouth and Archie looked.
"Shit" he said. I tucked Daisy's hair behind her ear once again. "Did your mommy do this to you?" All Daisy did was nod, I felt so bad for this poor child, she didn't know what none of it meant and here she was not knowing where he mom was.
