The other Black

Chapter eight

I look at Fred not knowing what to say. 'did you have any idea?' Fred asks. I shake my head 'no. I thought she was acting strange since the holidays but I thought maybe it had to do with the orphan house.' Fred nods. 'do you think different about her now?' I shake my head. 'no she is still the same Skyler for me. Still the same friendly, funny girl.' 'do you think she is in danger?.' 'I'm afraid so.' Fred sigh 'we have to find her' I say. 'where do we start she can be everywhere.'  'you start at the top of the castle then I start in the garden.' Fred nods. We go both in another direction. I walk down the stairs as I see Snape going around the corner together with McGonagall. 'Have you seen miss Mckinnon Severus? I can't find her anywhere and I'm starting to worry about her. What if he took her?' Snape sighs ' I don't think Black would hurt his daughter. Remember how he showed her off when she was born.' Snape looks disgusted. I know he never liked Skyler but I never thought it would be so bad. 'Severus we all know that you hate Sirius Black but we are talking about the life of 15 year old girl. It is a shame that you take your hate for Sirius out on here!' Snape just sniffs turns around and walks away. 'A lot of thoughts goes trough my head. Should I ask McGonagall for help? If Skyler really is in danger because of her father. I take a deep breath and walk around the corner. 'Professor McGonagall!' she turns around 'Mister Weasley what are you doing here?! You have to go to the great hall right away.' I shake my head 'no.' 'excuse me? This is not the time for jokes mister Weasley just for your knowledge there is-...' ' it is about Skyler.' I interrupt her. She looks at me with a questionable face. 'when the fat lady told us that Sirius black was in the castle she almost past out. Fred and I took her to an empty classroom trying to calm her down. That is when she told us her real name. And that Sirius Black is her father. We were a little shocked so she runoff. Fred I looking upstairs I wanted to go to the garden but then I heard the conversation between you and Snape so I decided to ask for help because I don't want anything to happen to here.' I say in one breath. McGonagall nods 'oke first doesn't tell anybody about Skylers dad and second go to the garden to look for her. Go fast!' I nod and run off to the Garden.

I still sitting under my tree tears streaming down my face. For a moment I turn around to look if there is anyone coming. That is the moment I see George coming out of the castle. I quickly get up and run to the forest. I turn in a wolf. My Animagus form. I run deeper into the forest. I stop when I reach the little lake. The lake was created by a small branch from the black lake. Its beautiful here the lake is not so big as the black lake but big enough to swim in. I turn back into my human form and take a seat at the edge of the lake. I smile at the memories I made here. The twins and I came to swim here in the summer. A sunbeam comes through the trees and reflects on the water. It gives a magical ambience. It isn't cold even when it is halfway through November. The sun is starting to set and because of the trees parts of the forest are already completely dark. It doesn't bother me to be honest. I always liked the dark even when I was a little kid. I am sitting in the forest for a while now and it is getting a little chilly. I stand up ready to go back to the castle when I see two eyes looking at me. they are the same eyes I saw on The Diagon Alley. The animal walks closer to me I can tell what kind of animal it is now. It a big black dog. He looks like the one I always see in my dreams. The dog stops and is now standing about 10 feet in front of me. I smile and look at the dog. 'hai there buddy what are you doing here?' I kneel down trying to get the dog closer. That is the moment the dog starts to change. I look up and a human is standing in front of me. not just a random human. No, it is Sirius black who is standing in front of me. My father.

I quickly get up and take a few steps back tears forming in my eyes again. 'Skyler' my dad says his voice sounds hoarse and tired. I shake my head 'no-.. no' years I have waited for this moment but now it is her I'm scared. Scared for what he want scared for what he is going to do to me. I take another step back. 'Skyler please just talk to me.' again is shake my head. 'no! I don't wanna talk to you. I know what you have done. How could you?!' my father walks closer what is my sign to walk more backwards. 'it wasn't me.' he says. 'they all say that.' 'Skyler please.' 'no..' I say softly. The moment he looks at the ground is my chance to turn around and run away. 'SKYLER WAIT!' I hear him yell. I keep running. I can hear him running behind me because of my wolf hearing. (Skyler can hear better because she is an Animagus. Let's say she has the hearing of a wolf) I can already see the light of the castle. I try to run faster and cross the school garden. I finally reach the castle. I stop thinking that he wouldn't follow me into the castle. 'SKYLER!' he yells. I start running again still scared and the tears still streaming down my cheeks. I run down the hallway hearing his footsteps behind me. I look behind me while I turn a corner. I still looking behind me what makes me run into somebody. I first look behind me making sure my father isn't there before I look up. 'Sky Fred and I have looked everywhere for you where-...' George cuts of his sentence as he sees the panic in my eyes and the tears streaming down my cheeks. 'he-... he is-.. is here George' I try to say. 'who is here Sky?' he pulls me in for a hug trying to calm me down. 'my father' I whisper. I start to cry again. 'I'm so scared.' I try to control my breath but without success. 'it is oke sky... I'm here... your save...' on that moment McGonagall comes around the corner with Professor Lupin. 'miss Mckinnon there you are.' McGonagall says relieved. She looks at George and me. For a moment a smile appears on her face before it went back to serious. 'you saw him didn't you?' she asks. I slowly nod. I feel George arms only tighter around me. 'where was he?' 'forbidden forest.' I answer softly. She nods 'oke we are first going to take you to the great hall.' 'can I first go to the bathroom please?' she nods. 'of course. After that, you come directly to the great hall understood?' I nod. 'Weasley stay with her.' 'yes professor' George answers. George walks with me to the girl's bathroom to my surprise he walks in like it was the most normal case in the world. I walk to the sink and look in the mirror that hangs above it. My eyes are red and puffy from all the crying. I throw some water in my face to make it less. 'how was he...?' George asks. 'he-.. he looked like he has been through hell. His hair was wild and his eyes where mat. He doesn't even look a bit like the man in the picture I have... he knows who I was the moment he saw me. He said my name the moment he turned back.' 'he turned back?' 'yeah he is Animagus. A big black dog. It looks like that is the only thing we have in common.' Fred and George are the only ones who know I'm an Animagus. I'm not born like one I become one. Strange enough really easy but I got the gen probably from my father so it was easier for me. Something like that I guess. George nod slowly he walks closer to me and slides up my sleeve where a small scrape can be seen. He takes a paper towel makes it wet and cleans my wound. He repairs my blouse with a wave of his wand. 'ready to go to the great hall?' I nod. George smiles 'oke lets go. And Sky?' I look up at him. 'yeah?' 'remember I will always protect you.'
