bad blood

after 'skin' was dropped everyone started talking about the scandal. even though before the release it was just hyunjin and the people in his circle who knew about the drama now everyone was familiar with it. 

every interview jisung had asked about 'driver's license' and that lyric that apparently got hwang hyunjin offended.

"i wrote 'driver's license' for a time when i was feeling a little down", jisung would explain, "there were good things happening to me and i had no one to share them with because the person who had promised to stay with me wasn't there anymore.."

and when he was asked more specifically about his relationship to lee know and what he thought about hyunjin he would always avoid the topic like the plague.

"well, i don't have anything to say about those two people. everybody is free to produce whatever music they like and there is nothing i can comment about a relationship i'm not involved with", he would state, "i only wrote a song about driving a car"

but hyunjin knew that the rapper boy was lying. he was involved in that relationship and he had put in incredible efforts to get inside of it. hyunjin was outraged by jisung's nerve with saying that as if he didn't write an entire song about minho leaving him for hyunjin. he couldn't help but grit his teeth every time someone mentioned the rapper's name in his presence. 

despite his anger, hyunjin always kept his calm in public. his interviews also always involved questions about both 'driver's license' and 'skin' and even if he tried to dodge those invasive remarks they would always come back and haunt him.

"what motivated you to write 'skin'?", the interviewer started, "more specifically, what was the reason for you to write 'maybe blonde was the only rhyme'? is this a reference to something or..?"

"no, it's.. 'skin' isn't about that", hyunjin replied slowly. he had started by saying the wrong thing and now the speech he had learned by heart was useless, "it's just a song like any other.. i feel like the lyrics are very explicit", he continued, "everything is in the song. there's nothing that you need to know that's not in the lyrics", he concluded, smiling and ready for the next question.

"okay, and what are your thoughts on 'driver's license', han jisung's new song?", the interviewer cheekily returned. he wasn't going to give up easily.

"i.. congratulations to han jisung for this", hyunjin replied after stuttering. the way he pronounced the name sounded as if he was spitting poison, "i hope he drives safely", he finished off by saying, signalling that it was now time to end the topic.

jisung was watching the interview at home. hope he drives safely. what a jerk! he picked up his phone and opened twitter. 

everyone was commenting on that. people had funny shady tweets about hyunjin that involved driving puns and at some point jisung laughed at them out loud. maybe his opponent should just learn how to chill and take a step back from that petty rivalry.

when asked about hyunjin's comment about his driving, jisung had to respond however.

"well, i am a responsible driver and would like to thank him for his concern. maybe i should drive mr hwang somewhere in my car to show him that there's no need to worry", the boy stated, "and, you know, show people that there is no bad blood there.."

he was being snappy too. he didn't mean to make it sound like that but it just slipped. he was sure that now the backlash on both of them would be crushing. 

hyunjin's response didn't take long to reach jisung: it was a video. the couple was going somewhere by car, minho was driving and hyunjin was filming. their hands were intertwined on the blonde's lap. the caption was 'who needs a driver when you have your boyfriend drive you anywhere?"

on the next interview when he was asked about his recent drama, jisung replied with: "my skin is clear, and so has been my life for a while now"

it wasn't as explicit as the thing that prompted it but jisung was already getting fed up with this and was hoping that hyunjin would too.
