I live in the city so dirt, trees, flowers, and grass isn't something I see often. When my parents said I was moving to Wisconsin, I didn't take it very well. I didn't like my school anyway though. It had so many kids that there was 6 teachers per subject with about 35 per class. It was always so loud, and kids were always getting into fights. Not that I miss that much.
But my old crammed apartment was messy but comfortable. I would sit on a pile of clothes and read until I got bored and played minecraft or went for a walk. Not that my parents were poor, but they didn't have time for me, nor the house alike. They both had full week, all day jobs that didn't pay very well. But there wasn't many jobs around that payed well so it didn't matter. In fact, my parents being gone all day left me some time to relax and have some free time. I'm a regularly grade A student, so homework doesn't bother me, but change definitely does.My parents and I are packing our things. I wonder what it will be like at our new home. I've heard that Wisconsin is very cold, but I hope it's not a huge pain. Also, I hate cheese. It's the most disgusting thing ever. It's really wet and slimy but also too dry. I'm getting into the car, and I feel a tugging on my sleeve. It's one of our apartment neighbor's daughter. Her name is Selene and I baby-sit her a lot. Since she is only 6, her mother is with her. "Where you going?" She asked pouting. "Somewhere else" I replied slightly annoyed. "Mom! Can we get on the road already?" I ask. We've been sitting here for hours talking with our apartment neighbors. We start the car and say bye to our friends. I'm rather eager to arrive, because I'm so excited for the new house. I know I said I didn't like change, but it can be so exciting to await it. I plug in my headphones and listen to my classical music. I'm tired so I rub my eyes and rest my head on the seat buckle.
Before you know it, I'm asleep. I wake up hours later pulling up to a cheap fast-food restaurant. I get out of the car and tiredly wobble to the entrance. Inside, there is a perky lady asking us about specials and discount meals. My father nods and quickly moves to the order desk. without asking me what I want, he orders me a burger, which I refuse to eat. Burgers are gross and greasy. They're still not as bad as cheese though. I lick my honey packets clean, and wait for my parents to finish eating. Within minutes we're back on the road. When we arrive, I leave the car and continue to the check-in desk with my parents. We have to stay in a hotel until things are finished, so I grab our bags and come into our room. It smells fake and plastic, like most do, so I cover my nose until I get used to the smell.
As I wake from my slumber, I overhear an argument from my parents. Curious, I peer around the corner, hoping to catch on to their conversation. Unfortunately, they ended the conversation, and I didn't hear any information. I walk in causally, and grab some cereal my mom brought me from downstairs. "Great news honey!" Says my mom, staring at my dad like a hawk. "They've finished the details, so we'll be moving in today! Get your stuff ready because we're leaving in an hour." My mom gave my dad a we'll-talk-about-this-later sort of look, so I slipped out of the kitchen and quickly put together my bag. In no time at all, we once more we're zipping down the road. We pull into our driveway and open the car trunk, which slams shut with a click. We turn the knob excited and nervous about what we will see.
