I had been living with Jake for one year now, but lately he'd been acting so strange. Selfish, distant and also, very different from his usual self when he came back from work.
He says he loves me, but he hasn't been showing love for three weeks now.
Maybe he has found someone else.
NO. It can't be true. He says he loves me. But then, he hates me.
"Nice arvo darling" in his typical Aussie accent. "Hmm, hey..." is what I say back. Don't add more. He wants to leave me after all.
"What's wrong? Something happened?"
"What happened is that you are distant, not caring and cold. So cold. I'm sorry Jake but... Please talk to me. Please tell me if I did something wrong to you or our relationship. Please..." said I, with watery eyes. Maybe he had found out about my condition.
"Hey darling I am sorry for having let you worry. The thing is... now it is summer, and two of our lifeguards are down, one is in hospital with two seriously broken legs and a knee out of place, and the other is at home caring for his sick son. That is why for the last three weeks I was so busy at work . And that is why I didn't show you affection. Sorry."
"W-What? So no other lover?"
"What? Other lover? Who told you this nonsense?"
"I thought you had another lover somewhere . Hidden because ... Of your fame." Said I, crying.
" **** fame, you are the only important person to me"
"Oh my god... I am so stupid Jake sorry..." said I, bawling my eyes out.
"It is alright darling. Keep crying, I'm here. I promise you, tomorrow I'll be yours for the whole day."
