Epic POV

I had really hit it off with Outer and Bird, they were really great. I'm glad I made some new friends, I really liked them. A lot. I laughed once more as Bird finished telling us about his AU. I liked his Frisk and I hadn't even met her! She seemed hilarious.

"You should've seen her reaction. Priceless, I must say." Bird explains. "Priceless."

"I wish I was there!" Outer exclaims, laughing.

"Yeah, it would've been fun!" Killer says.

"Killer?" Nightmare was standing with Error, by the door to the coffee shop. "Can I speak with you for a moment, please?"

I noticed Error had tears in his eyes, his hoodie was up, he was shorter than Nightmare, who was side-hugging the smaller one. He was shaking slightly, despite wearing the hoodie, I couldn't help but think it wasn't from the cold.

Why was Ink not as broken as Error was?

Did he not care for Error?

"Um, Boss? Is it urgent?" Killer asks.

"You know what? I'll just tell you all...since, I know you trust them, Killer. And I trust you." Nightmare admits, "No, it's not 'urgent', but it's important."

Killer nods, waiting for him to continue.

"Ink was using Error as a tool to stop him from destroying the universes." Nightmare explains. "So, I'm going over there right now to tell Ink what I think about him."

"I-I'm f-f-fine, Nightmare...d-don't." Error mutters, his voice barely above a whisper. I frowned, a sympathetic look in my eyes. I couldn't help it. I knew that feeling so well. The feeling of loving someone who doesn't love you back...

I sighed, trying to clear my head, looking back to Nightmare.

"Error, I'm going to. There's nothing you can do to stop me. I promise, nothing. I won't let him get away with this." Nightmare growls, he seemed to be beyond angry about this whole situation. Honestly, I wanted to run away. Did every situation have to be about...love?

Can I not escape love for one day?

It seemed to be everywhere. Killer gave me a sympathetic look.

"Hey, I know you don't like topics like this. Why don't you head home? I'll call you later, okay, Epic?" Killer offers. I nod.

"Yeah, okay, bye guys, it was nice to meet you," I say, walking away, out of their range before teleporting home, opening the door and coming inside. The lights were on. Cross wasn't supposed to be home yet. I summoned a bone, ready to attack. I started up the steps when Cross came around the corner, I bumped into him, falling backwards.

"EPIC!" He shouted, grabbing me by the waist, saving me from a very painful fall, to say the least. "Shit. Are you okay?" Cross asks me.

"Y-Yeah...f-fine..." I say as he pulls me back up on my feet. "I thought you weren't going to be home!" I said.

"Didn't think you'd be home yet, either." He counters.

"I know movies last longer than that," I say, "What happened?" I ask.

"N-Nothing happened, Epic." He lied to me. "I'm fine."

"Liar." I whisper.

"What?" Cross asks me. "I didn't hear you."

"LIAR," I repeat. "Tell me what's wrong or else I won't let you go!" I yell at him, hugging him tightly. "I'm not letting go until you tell me what's wrong!"

He sighs, "Dream...I broke up with him. He was just...really close to Ink, in love...I know that look in his eyes, he used to look at me the same way, but, now that light has settled on Ink." Cross explains to me, tearing up. "Don't let go, Epic."

I hug him tighter. "I won't." I promise him. He hugs me back.

"I'm glad you're here for me."

"Any time," I say. "Any time at all."

"Thank you, Epic."

"Of course, Cross."

I'll always be here. Forever and always, just for you. I don't care what's going on, I will never leave your side. I never wanted to leave your side. Not now, not ever.

I loved being with you, Cross.

But- But, I just couldn't tell you that...not yet, at least.

I'm too much a scaredy-cat to tell you anything.

I'm just happy to be here for you.

I eventually led him downstairs and we got some cookies and popcorn, sitting on the couch, snuggled up, watching our own movie.

Cross POV

I was happy that Epic was here for me. He was the only one in the world who understood me so well. He knew just how to cheer me up. It wasn't long before I couldn't help but smile, forgetting about the previous events for the time being.
