AMIA LANDED WITH A GENTLE THUD to the fine dark wood floor of the Canadian Ministry's lobby. Before she even had time to properly get a good look of her surroundings, there was a hand in front of her face, offering to pull her up to her feet. Amia grabbed it and she didn't even have time to properly balance her stance before her father already had pulled her into a hug.

Caleb Powers was a big, muscular man. The man had brown hair and matching thick, well-trimmed beard. He had an intimidating appearance and frankly a personality as well. Caleb was a person everyone who met him wanted to be approved by. It was as if his approval was considered an honor because of his impressive status and just the person he was.

Amia was very comfortable around her father and the two were very close. Even though the desire of wanting to make him proud and his expectations added extra pressure on her, Amia had missed him while being away.

"Ami, I'm so proud of you." Caleb said, smiling. "I missed you, dear."

The girl felt comforted in his arms. It felt familiar and safe.

"Missed you too, Dad." she said, pulling away from the hug.

His father looked at her, still smiling. He rose an eyebrow, "You been crying - you're sad to come home?"

"I made new friends. I'm just sad I don't know when I'm going to see them again." Amia admitted, pressing her lips together.

"I'm sure you'll see them again, don't worry. True friendships always last, no matter the distance." Caleb stated, ruffling his daughter's hair. He appeared excited. "I know something that'll cheer you up: the manager of Moose Jaw Meteorites contacted me and they invited you to join their trainings the day after tomorrow for the rest of the summer until your school starts. Apparently, they heard of your results at ROGUE and they think asking you to come train with them is a great head start for them since you'll know what they offer when you start thinking where you're going to sign next year. I obviously told them you're going to go. This has been your dream since you were little."
