So, just for the record, this is literally only 1 chapter long. If you want more, I'll see if I can fit it in. For now, it's just this one shot. Well, Spinel's gem is harmed and once Steven gets help, she comes back back to normal, really.

"..."

"My Diamond..."

"..."

"My Diamond, it's time to wake up. Remember? You ordered me to awake you at exactly 10:30 am, and it's now that time."

"...."

"My Di-"

"I hear you, Spinel." The hybrid groaned exhaustedly, eyebags under his eyes indicating he didn't get much sleep last night. Heck, he didn't really need to tell anyone to wake him up. Would be useless since he only got 45 minutes at most of sleep. All night he was thinking about his wake-up caller, which he'd been doing for the past week now. He avoided eye contact with the pink gem that he knew was beside him, still lying down. "And...I didn't order you to wake me up, I simply asked you to."

"I'm only following your command, my Diamond," he heard Spinel's somewhat quiet voice ring above him. It pained him to hear her, even if they've known each other for months and her voice was usually her best quality. It was even worse she called him her Diamond. "I can make breakfast for you, My Diamond. What would you like?"

'Please...stop calling me that...'

Steven, still avoiding her, glanced down at the floor. "You don't have to make me breakfast anymore, Spinel, I've told you that."

"But, you need-"

"I'll be fine skipping breakfast..." He muttered, finally sitting up and facing his Spinel. It only pained him more to look at her. She looked the same, her pigtails still in tact, her gem still upside down, and her whole edgy outfit didn't change. It was like the Spinel he knew and loved before.

But even he knew it wasn't her.

The Spinel he loved didn't follow orders. She didn't wait on him hand and kneel. She didn't get scared or upset whenever she thought she didn't do as she was supposed to, or fear being shattered if she did something that displeased Steven. No, the Spinel he loved? She didn't see him as her Diamond.She saw him as her true love, her boyfriend, even her future husband. While she sometimes got in his nerves when she was being sarcastic or being a smartass, Steven would prefer that over this...fake.

Spinel stood the same position she was all night, which Steven was sure she thought she had to do that to keep predators from him during the night. She was willing to do anything to keep her Diamond happy, even if it included things she wouldn't normally do before this whole mess. Before, she'd cuddle with Steven while he slept and he was welcomed to her every morning. Sadly, he was no welcomed to nothing but a gem who thinks she's a slave and has to do everything to keep from shattering. Not that Steven would shatter her for any reason. He knew his Spinel - the one he fell in love with - was still in there somewhere. Somewhere in that poor, sad fake, was his real love. Somewhere. If Steven could, he'd bring her back, or at least trigger some memories so Spinel could snap out of her slaved state.

"My Diamond, what would you like to do today? Any games? Activities? Places to go?" Spinel asked him obediantly. She began to smile a bit. "If I can suggest, we could go to the Arcade."

Steven tried to hold in the tears that were welding up in his eyes. 'The Arcade...that was Spinel's favorite place...'

"N-no..." He stuttered quietly, already feeling tears building up again. Honestly, he hadn't been there since the whole incident. "We aren't going there..."
