Lovely Trails
Out on the driveway-
"In the middle of August, Mordecai decided that after a long month of him and Margaret working endlessly, they should go on another camping trip a few years after, and this time nothing will go wrong. Now that it's just him and her, and not Rigby and Eileen, they can spend more time together and not rush things in the woods. They were excited to do many things, after all, Mordecai said that he loves the forest."
"Mordecai carried the tent kit and proudly stored it into the trunk of his new car; a Honda CR-V©. The couple decided that Margaret's old hatchback had to go, and that they had to keep up with the technology these days, but that's cool, because this car and it's modernizing charms were calling their names."
"Margaret was loading the snacks and other essentials onto the rear seats, and once she was done, she got into the passenger seat. Mordecai, locking the house up, eventually came to the driver's seat and thus, now began their trip to the National Forest, or as I would call it, Yosemite National Park: the park where life and the waterfalls shine."
Cue the two driving-
Mordecai: *looking at the gps* We're almost there. I can't wait! The many things we'll get to do...
Margaret: Yeah Mordecai! Except... Are you sure we couldn't bring Eileen and Rigby? I'd hate for them to miss the trip.
Mordecai: Nah it's fine, Rigby said that he and Eileen are busy with other things anyway, so it's just us.
Margaret: *nods* Well, I just hope that things go smoothly for the most part... Well, you know...?
"That's right. The last time they went camping, the gang encountered that Stag-Man monster on a rainy night, who was clearly set on killing them for practically nothing. It was a good thing that ranger ran him over. Classic deer headlight hypnosis."
Mordecai: Yeahhh, but I think we should be good, for now let's just have fun. *puts his wing around Margaret, who leans on his shoulder in return*
Yosemite Park-
"Finally, they made it, after a whole two hour drive. Yosemite Park. It was beautiful as they remembered it."
"Sequoias and redwoods reaching for the sky, forest animals hiding and jumping out of shrubs, and wide open spaces with fresh air in comparison to the filthy city air."
"There was a long line of cars since it was both summer and the weekend, but they have all the time they need now that they're on vacation."
"After waiting, they eventually pulled up to the entry gate, and this time Mordecai paid attention to the ranger's regulations. He wasn't the same ranger as before but he was still just as important when it comes to enforcing the rules. The two promised that they'll actually park up at the local campgrounds. They weren't as young and rebellious as they were in their early 20's, rules are a priority to everyone."
At the Sawmill Campgrounds-
"They got out of the car to finally stretch their bodies, knowing that they have a lot of walking and hiking to do. But the best part about this specific campsite was that it would still have the same view that the restricted site had to offer; the waterfalls, except a much higher view."
"Mordecai had the tent strapped on his shoulder like a backpack, while Margaret dragged the cooler and carried the bag of essentials. They climbed up a steep hill mostly, trying to find the perfect spot."
"And 10 minutes later, they found it. The perfect spot. The forest surrounding a large patch of solid ground with wildflowers, the sun shining down on it, providing a nice view of the open sky, and luckily there was a pile of wood just waiting to be burnt."
"After putting their stuff down they caught their breath, and officially decided to set up camp (no pun intended)"
"The tent kit they purchased is known to set itself up once it's out of the bag, so that saved time for Mordecai. They laid down the sleeping bags next to the tent in case they wanted to sleep under the stars, and to make sure that no damn bears and other forest animals raid their food, they secured all of it in a large container inside the tent."
Mordecai: *grabbing a water bottle* So, I think that's everything. Shall we go on that hike milady?~
Margaret: *giggling* Why of course. I can't wait to breathe all of that forest air in.
"Margaret grabs her water bottle and follows the waiting Mordecai."
"It would go like this, according to the map: First they'd hike through the forests below, then tread through the rocky and river areas, and making their way to the valleys would be their turning point back to the campsite. It would be a very healthy and romantic walk through the beautiful scenery."
"The couple would now begin their hike"
End of the first half
