[ This story starts off around 3 months prior to where heart strings starts , it'll eventually catch up ]

Alex adjusted the headset over his beanie, he then switched his mic on. He turned to look in the mirror which was to the left of him. He smiled and moved his hair slightly over to the left, tucking some in to the beanie.

"Alex you're taking foreverrrrrr" karl whined through the call
"Hurry up big q" sapnap laughed.
"You two are so impatient"
"We are waiting to POP OFFFFF idiot" sapnap teased

Alex loaded up minecraft, he joined the IP sapnap had sent him. already waiting was karl and sapnap who were crouching by a tree.

"okay so i'll build a house, nick go mining and alex can you get some wood"
"who made you the boss"
"i did now hurry up sapnap it's gonna be night soon because alex took so long"
"you're so dramatic! i didn't even take that long"
"whatever go get me some wood! go peasant go!"

Alex smiled hearing Karl and Nicks soft laughs, yet he pretended to be mad. He enjoyed teasing them a lot.

"yes my lord" alex replied as he went to collect wood for karl

"you didn't tell me what type of wood, so i brought spruce and birch" alex said
"you brought the worst two ewww" sapnap said hitting alex's character with a diamond sword
"YOU HAVE DIAMOND ALREADY???"
"dude you cheat more than dream and that's saying something"
"karl you can't say thAT" sapnap had a voice crack causing the group of friends to crack up

It was now nightfall in their minecraft world, karl has died twice to creepers, now about to be three times

"ALEX HELP THERES A CREEPER HES GONNA HURT OUR HOUSE" Karl screamed as his character ran
"ALEX IS WEAK ILL SAVE YOU KARL" Sapnaps character charged in hitting the creeper
"NOBODY TOUCHES MY KARL!"
the call went quiet
"your karl?" alex snickered
"oh shut up i meant my house but karl was in danger" sapnap defended
alex put his auto tune on
"oooo i'm sapnap karls all mine boohooo wahhhh i'm such a little baby"
"alex you're literally a child"
"and what about it dickhead"

"boys boys there's enough of big ol karl jacobs to go aro- AH" Karl let out one of his classic screams as a zombie took away his final heart
"you died again?!?" alex yelled his autotune still on, this reminded him to turn it off
"SHUT UP I DIDNT KNOW THERE WAS A ZOMBIE" Karl poured in real life despite nobody being able to see him
"stop bullying karl alex" sapnap whined
"right sorry i didn't mean to upset YOUR karl"

The three laughed for a while before sapnap decided to head off leaving karl and alex in the call

It was pretty quiet besides the clicks of their mouses and the tapping of keyboards, despite them not talking they enjoyed each other's presence

"want to know something funny karl" alex laughed, he was clearly tired
"hm?"
"that's not the first time nicks referred to you as his"
"he's only kidding, yknow with the whole fiancé thing" karl chuckled brushing it off
"how would you feel if it was, yknow more than kidding"
"i dunno"
"you don't know?"
"that's a really random thing to ask alex-"
"sorry it was just playing on my mind"
"i'm on your mind?" karl held the headphones closer to his ears, he heard a soft chuckle escape alex's lips, one he had clearly tried to hide
"more than i'd like to admit"
"i think of you pretty often aswell alex"
"is that so?"
"it is"

alex said something in spanish karl didn't quite catch.

"you make me wish i listened more in spanish class in middle school"
"it's a shame you didn't understand it, on that note i'm off to bed, night" Alex logged off before karl could say anything

That night karl went to bed thinking of sapnap and alex.
just as he did every other night
