"niiiiickkkkkkk" alex dragged out sapnaps name
"what alex" sapnap snapped back
"woah no need to be so hostile"
"i'm not i'm just tired, i didn't sleep well"
"why?"
"dreams been really worried about george lately, dreams not been sleeping cause he's scared george might need him"
"that's not good, i hope things improve"
"me too, i'm exhausted"
"get some rest nick, you need it"
"i've gotta stream today i can't"
"nobody said you have to stream though"
"i suppose you're right" sapnap replied, he tapped his desk with his fingers

sapnap soon agreed and went to bed, not long after karl joined alex's call

"karl!" alex beamed
"hey alex" karl giggled
"why are you in a vc all alone?"
"oh nick was here too but he went to bed"
"at four pm?"
"it's a long story"
"okay, wanna go on our minecraft world?"
"sure"

the two loaded up their world. The house they'd built actually didn't look awful, apart from the little 'hut' alex built next to it. He called it his divorce mansion, where'd he'd stay whenever they jokingly argued. It was nice to have something they did offline, something between them that wasn't streamed, something personal between them.

Karl had two dogs, alex didn't have any pets because every time he tried to get one nick would kill it and blame it on karl.

they played into the night, it was now nearing one in the morning but alex had something on his mind

"karl"
"yes alex?"
"i need some advice"
"shoot what's up"
"what do you do when you have a crush on someone"
"you're saying it as if we're 14"
"just shut up, like what do you do"
"you tell the girl"
"what if it isn't a girl"
"you're gay?"
"well no- not exactly- i don't know it's confusing"
"you have a crush on a boy, that sounds gay to me"
"ITS HYPOTHETICAL"
"so you hypothetically have a crush on a boy, you would hypothetically tell them then...?"

"what if i hypothetically had a crush on you"
"on me?"
"and sapnap" alex paused feeling his heart race, the familiar feeling of it pounding against his rib cage
"are you drunk" karl laughed nervously
"no"
"oh"

"you have a crush on me?"
"hypothetically!" alex interrupted

"right so hypothetically."
"stop saying hypothetically"
"YOU STARTED IT"
"NO- wait never mind i did start it, continue karl"

"i don't know what to say alex"

"you know you want to karl don't lie to yourself" alex chuckled to himself as his character chased karl's
"it's crazy, you can't be serious"
"i'm dead serious karl, i want to be with you"
karl paused, his heart dancing at the words that he heard through the headphones
"but the distance-"
"-we'll break it" quackity interrupted

karl thought to himself, he knew his feelings for alex were present but what if they left? what if he ended up losing his best friends over some flirting that went too far

"just give me a chance karl i'll make it worth your while, i promise you that now"
"okay"
"okay?"
"i'll be your boyfriend"
"HELL YEAHHHH" alex fist pumped the air and did a little victory dance whilst karl giggled
"now to get sapnap in on it" alex smiled as his minecraft character handed karl's a blue cornflower.
