Taking Chances

Chapter 2

I sighed as I rolled out of bed. A rather loud alarm clock woke me up, but I don't remember setting it.

"Rise and shine!"

Ugh.

 The afternoon sun pelted down on my face. It was muggy, with mosquitoes everywhere, sucking my blood. It was humid, and hard to breath. Basically, hell.

 "It's too hot outside. Can't we do this tour thing tomorrow?" I asked.

  He chuckled to himself. "Tomorrow you're working. So I don't think so."

  I freeze. "Wait, wait, wait, wait, hold on a sec. Working?!"

 "Yup," he answered. "Mucking, grooming, etc. Well, come on let me introduce you to everyone." He didn't even turn back to talk to me. Does he expect me to just follow him around like an obedient puppy?

 But, I follow. I was getting hesitant; how many people would I have to meet? But I had nothing to worry about.

 "OK, this is Shelia." He points to a skinny, yet curvy, girl. She had straight, sleek, blonde hair, and emerald green eyes. She was wearing denim booty-shorts, and a green tank-top that perfectly complimented her eyes.

 "Hi." The way she said it...If I had water as cool as her voice, I'd be happy. Well, not happy. But close enough.

 Standing next to her was a cowboy. Really, that was the only way I could describe him. He was wearing jeans, which immediately made me question his sanity. I mean denim?!? In this weather? Not saying he didn't look good in them, but still... The jeans were accompanied by a dark blue Tee, with a flaxen-color cowboy hat. He looked 17, making him 2 years my senior.

  "Hey, I'm Ryder." Immediately I snort, responding with a,

 "Your names Ryder. And you're a cowboy."

 "Um yeah," he says, awkwardly running his hand through his brown, cropped hair. Something seemed to change in his eyes, but he laughed it off. "Sort-of weird but, yeah..."

  "Anyways, welcome. I hope you...enjoy it," Shelia oh-so-sweetly adds.

 "Thank you, I'm sure I will," I reply with as much honey-sweetness-gooey-ness I can. I mentally give myself a pat on the back. Maybe, just maybe, this won't be as bad as I thought.

Omg, hey guys. I bet you forgot about this. Not gonna lie, but I did too. Lol, the only excuse I have is that i'm just lazy. But, i'll try my best to update more on this. I also have a couple more story ideas floating around in that empty head of mine. One is Glee related *coughklainecough* and another one is based in NYC, cuz I just love the Big Apple.
