"Are you sure you won't come with us?" Alex asked his hands gripped tightly around my waist.
"I can't do that, you know that, as fun as it sounds,"
"Please be safe, if you need me call okay?"
"What are you going to do half-way around the world?" I teased.
"Do whatever I can to get to you, or you to me," he stated in a matter-of- fact tone. My smile vanished noticing the seriousness that had taken over his face.
"I'll be fine, don't worry about me. Go be a rock star, kill it on stage every night like you always do. I'll be right here when you come back," I promised. It was written all over his face that he didn't want to leave me.
"If you change your mind, I'm only a phone call away." He told me. I kissed him quickly on the mouth.
"I promise if it gets bad, I'll call you," I assured him.
"Come on Alex," I heard Jack call to him.
"Go on, I'll be fine," I reassured him. He nodded reluctantly slipping from my arms. Alex turned to Kelsey.
"Don't worry, I won't let any psychos near her while you're gone. Jack will be with you so no worries there," she called out loud enough for Jack to hear her. He stuck his head out of the bus door lifting his eyebrows, smiling, he blew a kiss in her direction. Kelsey flipped him off turning her attention back to Alex.
"She loves me!" Jack exclaimed causing Kelsey to roll her eyes.
"Be safe," she told Alex before wrapping her arms around me.
"Keep my girl safe," he told Kelsey, who saluted making him smile.
We watched as the bus pulled away, Alex staring out the window as if he were in a music video.
"Let's go get pampered," Kelsey insisted.
"Good idea." I sighed as we walked back inside for me to get my bag. "By the way, three strikes at being mean to Jack is one step closer to me telling him." I reminded her.
"The flipping him off doesn't count, I forgot all about that after what happened last night," she gasped.
"Fine, next time you see him you have to hug him with no explanation," I teased. She rolled her green eyes again with a smile on her face.
"Fine," she groaned. She knew in all the years of our friendship I would never actually tell him her secret, but I wanted them to be together so badly and desperate times as they say. I had to use the cards I was dealt.
After getting a fresh haircut, I felt rejuvenated. Kelsey and I went to a late lunch stuffing our faces with pizza I know I didn't need. My phone buzzed. I smiled seeing it was Alex.
"Hey," I answered the video call.
"You busy?" he asked noticing I wasn't at home.
"Kels and I are having lunch." I explained flipping the camera for Kelsey to wave at him. I put the phone back facing me so I could talk to him.
"I see you also did your hair," he pointed out.
"Yeah, you like it?" I asked flipping my bangs from my eyes.
Alex chuckled slightly. "It's very poser emo," he joked.
"Well, that's just hurtful Alexander William," I teased.
