Chapter 4

A week had passed since the accident. Poland was discharged from the hospital, and to his annoyance everyone treated him like he was made of glass. Yet at the same time, his roommates were weirdly wary around him. Czech didn't want to be in the same room as him. Hungary and Slovakia gave him weird looks.

That hurt him, of course. Did his friends think he's a demon or something?

On the bright side, his more loyal friends stuck around him like leeches. Russia hovered over him like an overprotective helicopter. America insisted on doodling and leaving small messages on his cast. And Germany had assigned himself the role of Poland's servant, completely ignoring the latter insisting he's fine.

"You don't need to carry my bag, you know."

"Didn't you fall just this morning because your bag made you lose your balance?"

"Okay, fair point but still-"

"I'm carrying it."

"...thank you."

He did appreciate Germany's comforting presence to no end, and made sure he showed his appreciation, through small touches on his friend's arms or shoulders, soft smiles, and of course, with words too.

Plus, the adorable blush that covered Germany's face when he expressed his gratitude was a great bonus.

Now, they were seated under a tree in a nearby park. School was over for today, and neither had anything better to do, so Poland attempted to teach Germany how to make flower crowns.

He was utterly failing.

"No, not like that. This goes through here."

"Stop, you're going to- and you ripped it. Nicely done."

"Look how loose this flower is. It'll fall off any second."

"Don't pull so hard, everything will fall apart!"

"Niemcy, I swear to God-"

He leaned against the tree trunk and rubbed his eyes.

"Just- leave it to me. You're hopeless."

Germany pouted.

"I'm a beginner, cut me some slack! This is so hard."

"We've ran out of flowers to pluck. That's how hopeless you are."

"Rude."

Poland was right though. Around them there were no more flowers. Damn.

Germany let his hand rest on the ground. Despite the flowerlessness  it was nice. The grass was still green, although the tress had started to turn yellow and red. A beautiful scenery, truly.

To Germany's surprise, he could feel something. Weak energy strummed beneath his fingers. He furrowed his brows, and focused on that source. And it felt like it got stronger.

What the hell..., Germany thought.

And he almost jumped as something tickled his hand. He swiftly pulled his hand away and watched in astonishment and fear how a few flowers bloomed next to him.

Germany instinctively reached for Poland's hand. Poland glanced at him, confused.

"You okay?"

He couldn't find words, and couldn't tear his gaze away. Poland followed his line of sight and let a surprised noise.

"Woah, were those here a minute ago? I must have missed them."

Poland leaned over and plucked the flowers one by one. Germany could feel a sharp pain cut through him each time, but for the sake of his sanity, he didn't question it. He couldn't.

One does not simply grow flowers just like that.

"Lucky you, you get one more attempt at weaving a flower crown. Watch me."

Germany shook his head to clear away any unwanted thoughts, and forced himself to pay attention to his friend. He'd process this weird occurrence later.

(A lie, and he knew it. He would rather bury it deep down and never think about it again, and he was going to try his damned best to do so, but something was telling him it would not at all be that simple.)

Germany could feel something brewing, something that left him anxious and fearful. His instincts had never been wrong.

He could only hope and pray it wasn't too big of a threat, and it didn't catch him off-guard. For now, he could only wait and see what's to come.

*Disappears for a year* *suddenly comes back and drops the worst chapter known to mankind* *refuses to elaborate*

What's up my probably long-gone readers!  Your host has made her yearly return!

Life update! Because why not

The more notable fandoms I have gone through are the Yuri on ice and Bungo stray dogs fandoms and lemme tell you! They're cool! Have sorta left them now tho simply because I lost interest in yoi and in my opinion the bsd manga fell off hard.

Now my main fandom is genshin impact! I know it has a bad reputation but if you surround yourself with the right ppl it's very nice.

As for CH? Well as it seems fandom never goes away. I wanted to write, but bsd isn't cutting it anymore and I got some mad competition in GI, so I came back here! Man the nostalgia <3 My first ever fandom. We're all a bunch of weird creatures here and I love that for us.

Also!!!! I have a cat now!!! She's a menace and I love her.

Cat tax! Meet Terry.
