Lily Brooks
"Oh my gosh! You like him!" Stephanie shrieked, catching the attention of several students standing near my locker. I shot her a glare and quickly grabbed the books I needed for the two periods I had after lunch break.
"No Steph, I don't like him. I barely even know him!" I snapped, already growing annoyed with her overenthusiasm after telling her I had met up with Tim last night, for our math assignment I might add. But Stephanie being her dorky self, immediately considered our meet-up as a date.
"You just told me that there was a tension between the two of you. That means something!" she shrieked again.
"Just shut up! Thanks to you, everyone now thinks I like someone." I hissed, eyeing some students that were suspiciously looking in my direction.
"But you two obviously want to jump each other's bones." Stephanie said in a low voice, wiggling her eyebrows suggestively.
You see, Stephanie was always thinking about sex even though she didn't even have a sex life. Just like me, only she imagined doing it with every guy. Plus, she didn't keep it a secret.
"Steph, I am not attracted to Tim, and certainly not in a sexual way." I almost whispered, making sure nobody could hear what I was telling her. A certain rumor about the school's sweetheart being attracted to the school's nerd would spread like wildfire.
Yes, I was attracted to Tim. But that was no one's business other than mine. Not even Stephanie's.
I closed my locker and ignored Stephanie's stupid smirk as I pushed past her, making my way to the cafeteria. She eventually followed me, not saying a word until we sat down at our usual table after getting some nasty cafeteria food.
I only had a salad, an apple and carton of milk since Wednesday was pasta day. Believe me when I say the pasta didn't even taste like pasta. I couldn't tell what it actually tasted like either.
"So you guys just worked on the assignment?" Steph asked, breaking the silence. "I mean, you didn't watch a movie, or just talked or something?"
I rolled my eyes at her, knowing exactly where she wanted to go with this. She wanted to hear some hot story about Tim and I making out on the couch or something. I wondered if it was really that hard to understand that nothing happened between us. He's so shy, he would never even dare to touch me – unfortunately.
"Nope." I answered, popping the 'p'. "We only talked about the assignment. I'm glad to have him as a partner. He's really smart and he wants to get a good grade, just like me. At least, he's putting a lot of effort into it unlike so many others."
"Effort – my ass." Stephanie scoffed. "He better puts effort into ripping your clothes off."
Once again, I shot her a glare. I highly doubted she even thought about what she was going to say before the words left her mouth.
"Seriously, you guys would make a hot couple," She continued nevertheless. "The school's nerd getting it on with the school's jock's crush. That would be freaking priceless. Brad would be so pissed-off!"
"It's not going to happen." I snapped. I angrily took a bite of my apple, earning an amused look from Stephanie. Sometimes, I really wondered why I ever became friends with her.
"Just admit it. You would love to have him in between your legs while he-"
"Steph!" I cut her off.
And again, she shot me that fucking smirk. "You know what they say. The most shy people have the dirtiest thoughts. I bet our little nerd is a fucking sex god with a colossal-"
