"Hello Alexis," the man said."Uh hi," she answered.
The man was tall and had short dirty blond hair. Although Alexis had never met this man before he seemed oddly familiar.
"I must explain why you are here," Micah said, "please, sit down."
He pulled up a chair for her which she sat in.
"I bet you are wondering why you are here."
"Um yeah an explanation would be nice, and what exactly do you do here anyway in your secret mountain base miles from anywhere?" Alexis asked, looking at Micah.
"Well to start out I might as well explain that we are the resistance, we are those who dare to stand up for our people and demand that they stop treating our people like animals when we deserve the same rights as any mundane. Our organization is thousands of years old and has been around since the beginning of time when our kind started getting treated as if we were lesser beings, our job is too monitor the mundane government and help any of our kind that are being miss treated, experimented on and hurt ... like you were." Micah said while he paced back and forth.
"What do you mean when you say our kind?" Alexis asked
"We are the last of our race, the survivors, we are the elementals.
"But I am not a whatchamacallit... elemental thingy." Alexis said looking baffled.
"But you are or you would not be able to enter the mountain, we set up system that would not allow a mundane to—
Suddenly a loud alarm sounded cutting of whatever Micah was going to say next.
"What's happening?" Alexis asked
"It's the invasion alarm" Izzy said, already running for the door, it suddenly burst open, a boy with dark hair stumbled through the door.
"Hurry," the boy said "this way."
"Sebastian what is going on?" Jake called as he was running over to where the others were.
"The government is attacking the bottom of the mountain trying to collapse it." Suddenly the floor shook.
"Willam you take Jake,Izzy Alexis and Sebastian and get them out of the mountain and take them to the shack by the lake,
Edaline, Noah you come with me and we will make sure everybody is out of the mountain," Micah yelled.
Willam hurried them through the hallway toward an opening at the end of the tunnel. Alexis had not been down this passage before but everybody else seemed to know where they were going. Suddenly they heard a piercing scream echo through the tunnel, Willam turned back, his face white.
"Sebastian you are in charge, get everybody out of the tunnel," Willam said, then he turned and ran back down the tunnel toward the source of the scream.
"Come on guys hurry." Sebastian said pushing them onward but Alexis's leg was still not fully healed and soon she fell behind the group. Suddenly Izzy was at her side putting Alexis's arm over her shoulder and helped her limp the rest of the way out of the tunnel, but they weren't fast enough, the roof started to carve in. Alexis through up her hand and the falling stone stopped hovering a foot from their heads
"Sakra," Alexis said when they were safely outside and sitting on the hill a few feet away from the mountain. "How in all of not so holy hell did I do that?"
"You must have elemental blood that kicked in when you were in danger," Izzy said, staring in wonder.
"Let's see if you can go again," Sebastian said, throwing a fireball at her head. Alexis threw her hands up to shield her face but the fire stopped right before hitting her face.
