Marcus had contacted the ship while it was still out and gave them directions on unloading their precious cargo. He had them placed in those that worked in the nursery and from there those that did a good job in the nursery. Those will be the ones that Marcus will be looking over for his potential servants/mistresses.
He also had the female separated from the others along with her mother and any other children, her potential ones or any others her mother had.
Marcus is holding Aurora in his arms and can tell that although she's not saying anything that she isn't happy. He can also feel when she collapses in his arms.
"Shit. Emmett, she passed out once again. I'll be taking her inside. Dallas have the females from that group go with Margaret, have the females from that group," pointing to first the female and her family that he's supposed to take and then to the group that he'll be choosing his servants from, "wait inside. There is no reason for them to wait in the sun. Once Aurora is up once more I'll make my choices then you and Korban will be allowed to make your choice before they will be taken to the general pool and looked over by everyone else."
"I'll be needing to talk to any that have medical training, so even if they are chosen they will need to be made available." Emmett reminds Marcus as he examines Aurora once more.
"I'm sorry, Marcus, but unless it's the throne talking to her once more there is no reason for her to have collapsed."
"I've never heard of the throne talking to one individual more than once. Have you?" Marcus demands of his older brother.
"You've studied more of the history of our people than I have, Marcus. My studies focused on the physical, medical part of our people, not the histories and politics."
Margaret had taken her group to the waiting area and had food and drinks given to them before returning to Marcus's and her mother's side. "No, there are no records made of the throne talking to someone more than once. However, you both are forgetting something, two things really. The first is that the throne hasn't been able to communicate with her people for centuries and is giving instructions on how to help her people survive and prosper. The second is my mother is the throne's daughter and might just want to talk to her again, especially since my mother is convinced that she is nothing more than a pawn in my grandmother's plan.
"I know that my mother would very much like to speak to her again. Although, speaking to her might not be such a good idea." Margaret is fairly sure that the throne is talking to her mother and Margaret highly doubts that it is an amicable conversation.
Her words bring some peace to the two men. "Emmett, go check out the females for medical training. Any that you are satisfied with will be transferred to work under you. They will not be given to any one, although they will be able to choose their partners or not if they prefer artificial insemination." Marcus instructs his brother, but never leaves off his worried watching over his chosen queen.
"What would you have me do, Marcus?" Margaret asks gently.
"Go and talk to the one I'm being forced to take and her family. Find out their circumstances. If I don't come by the time you are done then come and report what you find and think."
"Of course," Margaret might be young in age, but she's never been young in mentality. She hides it well, but she's terrified that Marcus won't be enough to keep her mother alive. She afraid that when the children are born her mother will succumb to the same illness that the females here fell to all because her grandmother is forcing Marcus to break his promise.
"Why am I here again?" Aurora demands of her mother once she sees the garden she was brought to.
