The scream was deafening. It was so loud, it woke the whole neighbourhood. Every member of the house rushed down to her room. She sat in a dark corner of the room on the bare floor, shaking and trembling, digging her sharp nails into her pale skin. Her family tried to take a closer step but she shrieked.;

"Let me be, go away. Leave me and go away. Haven't you had enough? I'm sick and tired of your endless torture. Please go away and leave me in peace."

"Aleesha, we are not here to hurt you. We are here to protect you. It's Mom, Dad, Nuhrain and Siddiq. It's your family. We are not here to cause any harm." Her mom tried to persuade her but she shouted again.

"Let me be!!!" Digging more into her skin. Thick Red blood, deep as wine, oozed out of her frail skin. She screamed violently and ran to the balcony of her room like a lunatic.

"Let me be! Haven't you had enough? Leave me!" Those words she kept repeating and each time she repeated, her voice gets louder and fiercer. Her mother broke down, like a child. She couldn't watch her daughter hallucinate and go insane every night.

After several screams, hallucinations and cries, she fell helplessly on her feet and stare into nothingness. Her brothers moved closer to her and carried her back to her room. She was placed on her bed and her mother sat with her squeezing her still trembling hands softly.

It's going to be okay, my dear. Everything is going to be fine." Her father assured her.
"And when is that going to happen? Aleesha asked with disdain. She shut her eyes and sighed dejectedly. A lot was going on in her fragile mind. Her body boiled with hate, anger, fear and trauma. Her soul bled with resentment and vengeance. Those dark emotions have now pitched a tent in her heart. She exhaled deeply and opened her eyes.

"Mom, I think I'm fine now. You can all go back to sleep. You all need some rest. " She said.
"No! We are not leaving. We'll stay here with you till dawn. You need us." Nuhrain said and the rest agreed with him.

"I'm alright. You guys need some rest and so do I. I'm feeling much relaxed and better and I need to catch some sleep before the sun rises." Aleesha said softly with a forced smile.

After a long moment of hesitation, they all left for their respective rooms. Aleesha let some minutes pass before gingerly standing up from her bed. She ran to the balcony, sat all alone in the eternal night, thick and murky with no glimmer of light and sulked the anguish of her private sorrow.
