She jerked up from her sleep sweating profusely. Her tears that have mixed up with the sweats glide down her face along with the mucus.

She wanted to stand up but was quickly held down by her brothers. Nuhrain made her rest her head on his chest while Siddique gently stroke her back to ease her hiccups.

Just as Nuhrain was about to say something, their mother barged in with a worried look. She hastened to her daughter's side and pulled her into a hug.

Aleesha buried her face in her mother's shoulder crying comforting into it. "It's okay now. We're with you so no need to be scared. Allah is with you and he will protect you so no need to cry." Her mother comforted her.

She stood up and went to take her bath after some hours. Within those moments, her mother and two brothers lectured her and reassured her multiple times that Allah is always by her side. She got relieved of her despair and decided to take her bath for the first time in a month.

The lectures she constantly received soften and eased the pain a bit. Though it still felt like it all happened yesterday but today seem like it going to be a not so bad day after all.

After taking her bath, she wore a light purple gown. She could have just go on with her normal routine and wear a shabby-looking black dress but she wanted to feel a bit of colour and brightness that day.

She sat at her favourite spot in the balcony of her room which is in her comfy white egg chair with a sketch pad in one hand and a well-sharpened pencil in the other and kept them on her lap while swinging the egg chair gently back  and forth in a slightly noticeable manner. She took in the scenery around her looking at either a bird flying by or the palm tree dancing to the sweet tune of the breath that penetrated her skin calmly.

The atmosphere seemed to be oddly peaceful today in a good way. She thought and smiled shifting her gaze down to the sketch pad and pencil.  She grabbed them and started sketching beautifully on the white plain sheet. In no time, it was marvellously covered. She looked at it in satisfaction after she was done and smiled.

"I almost forgot how much I enjoyed doing this." She sighed softly. "Almost." A voice said behind her with a chuckle. "Hi, Siddique." She said without looking back.

"How are you feeling now?" He asked, fully entering the balcony and rested on the black, iron railing.

"I feel not too bad." She replied faintly staring at things outside the sunny day. Siddique just smiled and shook his head briefly.

At least today looks better...

"You should do this more often." He spoke tenderly and paused to see her reaction but she gave out non and stared on like she was waiting  to hear more of what he has to say.

"You can start painting and drawing expressing your thoughts with that and at the same time inspiring young minds while  having so much fun. Don't you think that would be good?"

She swiped her head at me with a confused glare which slowly turned into a tender grin." Hmmm...she hummed and stroked her chin and continued.

"Actually, that sounds like a great idea. But...She said but her voice faded and her head bent low as tears threatened to escape her eyes.

"But what?" He asked. He moved closer to her and crouched in front of her with a concerned look.

"Do you think I can really do that? Are you sure I'm ready for such a thing? And with all that has happened in the pa..." She wanted to continue but Siddique placed his index finger in his lips indicating to her to stop.

"Shhhhh... Don't ever think you're not capable enough to make things happen. You're strong, determined, beautiful and intelligent and no one or nothing can ever take that from you except the One that has given you, God. And hey, tears don't belong to this pretty face, it never has and never will." He wiped away the tears completing his statement.

"Thank you." Aleesha sniffed. "You act much more intelligent than your age honestly. One would think you were my elder brother. " she chuckled faintly at that which made Siddique chuckle as well.

"They don't call me elf for nothing. Plus my name just compliments my personality so awesomely." He said in a very funny way.

He patted her head which made her pout." Heyyyy. Stop that. Ain't a kid, okay? She protested.

"Okay." He raised his hand in surrender. But muttered the word "kid" with so much emphasis and ran out of the balcony laughing.

Aleesha shook her head sideways with a faint almost unnoticeable smile.  If it were to be the good, old days, she would have run after him, chasing him around the house laughing and giggling but things have changed drastically within a few months.

They all just hope things will ever be the same and get back how they were.

She sighed softly and sank into her egg chair staring out the balcony with a heart that is beginning to feel heavy and troubled.  Yet she has to keep it all to herself for she has promised not to share her sorrows with anyone again.

It just makes her feel helpless and paint her as vulnerable. She needs to act strong and act like she was over everything while slowly healing within.

The healing has to come from her, from within...

Her thought...

Hello, my favourite people.  How have you all been doing?

Who missed me? Well, I'm glad that my writer's block is starting to wear off.

It feels incredible to be back after what seemed like a decade.

What do you think about this chapter?

Do you support Siddique idea? Would you recommend that she start doing something while she is still healing?

Do you think it would help get things off her mind?

Or you think she should heal more before taking on any sort of responsibility.

Do you think she can handle and bear things alone if she keeps her worries and pain hidden from her family?

Let me know what you think. I'll be waiting for your awesome replies.

Don't forget to vote comment and SHARE.

Nabilah loves you all. Stay happy and safe.
