Dean's POV
The day started out like any other, I got up at five o'clock and got ready for work. I work at the Fire Station like my father and his father and his father's father. I guess you could say running into burning buildings is in my blood. Next, I took a shower and got dressed, I heard that a person was moving in across the street. I don't know why someone would move into this town but, hey people are people.
By the time I finished checking Facebook and my email it was about nine. I decided to go to the park for awhile and maybe fish or feed the ducks or maybe just sit and watch the day go by. I didn't go to work until one or until they paged me in which never really happened.
I really loved this town even if it's small, you can walk everywhere and eventhough everyone knows you, you get a lot of food when you're sick.
When I finally got to the park, only a couple people where there so it was pretty quiet. I decided to lay on the grass and clouds, I know it's boring but, hey my life needs to be boring. Not even an hour pass and my friend Cole showed up. He's pretty nice and all but, he sometimes can be a pain in the arse.
"Hey, Dean!" He greeted. Cole was little shorter than me, had bright green hair and dark blue eyes. "Yes?" I asked. "I was gonna tell you that, that person who is moving in is a girl and she kind of a cutie" He said clearly out of breath, he was one of the people who go in and look for survivors with me but, he was in pretty bad physical condition. "Yeah and your point is...." I trailed off, not really caring but, if the girl was cute to a gay guy, she was probably pretty hot. "Maybe, you should ask her out. Do the welcome to the town and may I show you around bid?" he said nudging my shoulder and winking. "Yeah, maybe" For someone who like guys he's pretty good at thinking up ways to get chicks. "When did she get here?" I asked. "A little bit ago" He replied. I looked at my watch, it was about ten-ish. "Okay" I said nodding. "Bye" he got up and left.
I decided to lay back down and listen to music, try to clear my head and just let Three Days Grace fill my mind. I didn't know it at the time but, I guess I dozed off. After awhile I woke up and and checked my phone, it was noon. I jumped up and left the park in a hurry. In my hurry out of the park, I didn't see the girl with black hair. I'm guessing since I haven't seen her around, that she was the new girl. So, this was my chance.
"Sorry, for almost running you over" she said sincerely. "It's okay, I wasn't really paying attention." I replied "What's your name?" Her name was probably something like Ashely Jones or Samantha Elizabeth considering what she looked liked. "My name is Night Rider, I just moved her" I almost laughed of course she just moved here but, first impressions are important. "Cool, my name's Dean Cullan" "Kind of like the vampire?" She laughed. Man, I really hate when people say that I had to live through part of high school with that. "Yeah, yeah like the vampire. Since you're new here, maybe I could show you around" I asked politely. "That would be great. How about say.....five o'clock?" "Sure, sure" I nodded I knew today wouldn't be eventful so I said, "I'll get off at three, so that's perfect. I really got to get going but, here's my number, call me around four or when you can and I'll give you the tour". I said hurriedly and started running down the street. To my home to get changed, then to my job.
