*leahs pov*

It's the next week, and I couldn't be happier. I told Jennifer that I love her, and she feels the same. Sometimes I hate myself for wanting to give up on us so fast when I found out about Emme, but if anything she's brought me and Jen closer. Everything's going so perfect right now, and I want it to last.

I walk in my office and go through my emails. Things have been going good at work, and Jennifer is stacking up more and more shoots by the day. She's like a professional and I can't get enough of it.

Everything's great, but I just got an email last week about looking into Jennifer. It was from Elle magazine. You might have seen them before, they're a pretty well known magazine company, and I couldn't believe it when I saw that they emailed me. But they want to bring in Jennifer for an interview.

It kind of made me a little down when I saw that they want to see her. Of course I want the best for Jennifer, and that could be a great opportunity for her, moving up to a much bigger company.

She'd make a lot of money and she'd be able to support Emme even better. Of course if anything happens, I could always support them, I already try to be as involved as I can.

But all this means Jennifer would have to leave my company. And that means I don't get to see her as much. She'll be all the way across town as a matter a fact. And I love how we get to be together most of the week, so this will definitely be a change if she takes it.

Later that day, I went over to Jennifer's house to tell her about it. I can't just keep it from her, overall it is her decision and whatever she wants to do.

"Hey gorgeous." I say once she opens the door. "Hi." She smiles and kisses me. We both got off work like an hour ago, and I told her I was coming over.

"Where's Emme?" I ask since she usually comes running when someone's at the door. "She's taking a nap upstairs." She says and sits down on the couch.

"Oh, well I have some news." I say and sit beside her. "Is everything okay?" She asks. "Yeah, yeah." I assure her since I don't want her to worry.

"I got an email from another company, they want to take you in for an interview." I say and she furrows her brows. "Well I'm glad to here that and all, but I'm fine where I am." She shrugs which makes me feel good.

"Jennifer, it's for Elle magazine." I say and pick up the Elle magazine that was ironically sitting on her coffee table. "You're lying-." She says and I shake my head no. "I was surprised too, but isn't that really exciting?" I ask but she stays quiet.

"It is.." She nods. "Are you gonna do it?" I ask. "I don't know...I don't want to leave your company, I like it there. And I like having you there." She pouts. "I understand, and I feel the same way, but I'm not gonna drag you down from growing with this career. People are noticing you, and that's what it takes to get to the top." I explain to her.

She looks away and stays quiet. She thinks for a second then and looks back at me. "Do I have time to think about it?" She asks. "Of course. I think you should sleep on it." I tell her.

She nods and runs her fingers through her hair. "So how was your day?" She asks, changing the subject. "Productive. You?" I ask.

"It was fine. You want something to drink?" She asks and stands up. "Water please." I say and she nods. She comes back with some water and hands it to me.

We hang out for like 2 hours, and just talk about random stuff, we never really get bored with eachother.

"You know what." Jen says and I look at her. "Hm?" I hum. "I want a dog." She nods slowly and plays with the rips in her jeans. "A dog?" I ask.

"Yeah. Emme's always wanted one too. It's just me and her so I think it would be fun." She shrugs. "Like a big dot or little dog?" I ask. "Definitely a big dog. Well- maybe like a puppy, that gets bigger as it ages." She says. "Yeah I don't like little dogs, their annoying." I say and she agrees.

"Well I think that'd be a good idea." I shrug and nod. "Yeah. I'll look into it." She says."So what do you want for Christmas?" I ask since it's already winter, and Christmas will be here before we know it.

"I don't fucking know." She shrugs. "We'll figure it outtt." I say and poke her shoulder. "Well what about you? What do you want for Christmas?" She asks. "Mmm, I like Jewelry andddd heels anddd stuff." I shrug. "Well that's obvious." She says.

"Is Emme excited for Christmas?" I ask. "Oh yeah. She always is, she gets it from me." She nods. "So do you visit family on Christmas or is it just you 2?" I ask. "We stay here, so it's just us." She shrugs and I nod.

"Jennifer don't you think we should tell Emme about us sometime soon?" I ask and she looks at me. "I know...J just don't want to confuse her." She says. "Well it's good to teach her young so she can understand earlier and grow up knowing that it's normal." I shrug.

"You're right, I just don't want her little mind to be stressed out." She says. "I doubt she'll even think anything of it. Besides, she basically loves me so I'm sure she'd be happy to hear that we're dating." I say and she smiles. "Yeah...How about you tell her with me once she wakes up?" She suggests. "Ok." I shrug.

Eventually Emme wakes up and comes down stairs, and Jen asks to talk to her. She starts it out slow, explaining love and everything. Then she tells Emme that me and Jen are together, and she uses her past relationships as an example, saying we're basically like that.

Emme listens inquisitively, and Jen continues. She lets Emme know that it's not weird or gross, it's just a little different, and it's okay. Jen finishes and Emme just takes it all in. But of course, her being the perfect little girl she is, she had a good response.

"I like that you guys love eachother. That's even better cuz that means that mommy can love you just like I do. Anddd you'll be around a lot to play with me." She says  and Jennifer pouts. "I love you." Jennifer says to Emme and hugs her tight.

I smile at Jennifer then I look away before I start to cry. Emme is such an innocent little thing who wants the best for everyone, she'll grow up to do great things. I just hope I can watch her grow up.
